It would have been a big hit, actually he was going to do a similar song written by his bass player Jerry SCheff call FIRE DOWN BELOW for his next album, in fact they had done the tracks for the song, but saldy Big E could not get aorund to do it, due to his sad demise......so here is the link for fellow E fans to enjoy

That is inaccurate ~ my Father Link Wray and Bruce were Best Friends. Bruce wrote the song and Robert Gordon and my dad performed it first. He wrote that for them.....and Elvis covered it! Your description is false information.

I aks why Elvis never has recorded that great song. In 1975 he has had problems to found new songs for recording. Was this song never played to him? Was the song withheld from Elvis? I know that Bruce climbed over the walls of Graceland as a teenager to present a song he had written to Elvis, but Elvis was supposedly on tour. It's a shame, because it would have been a top hit for Elvis, which he could really use in those years.

It's 2023 and A.I. covers are a thing, and I went looking for an A.I. Elvis version of "Fire," just to get an idea what that song would have sounded like if Elvis had lived long enough to record it. I found this instead. Pretty good!
