Hi, thank you for showing us your approach! I'm using the "Advanced Paths" app together with the "Translatable Slugs" app. Using only the "Advanced app" has the disadvantage, that your Japanese content has English slugs. Using also the "Translatable Slugs" app should take care of that. For example: German (default): /leistungen, English: /en/services. However, when someone opens the foreign language url "/en/services", the app blocks and a 404 page shows up. The page can't even read the locale from the url. Is there a recommended approach when using both apps (together with Next 14)?

At 34min, there is a list of available languages. You show a country flag in front of every language You shouldn't do that. French for example is spoken in multiple countries: France but also Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Ivory coast, Senegal... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_territories_where_French_is_an_official_language Also you have multilingual countries like Belgium, Switzerland... where they speak multiple (official) languages. So It doesn't make sense to display a flag.

What is Storyblok? A headless CMS platform. What is one the things they claim they do? Clients and devs alike are empowered to easily create, manage, and repurpose modular content across channels/websites, improving content consistency and development speed. Basically, people can change content online. Does it work? Not really. They have a huge bug inside that makes exactly the opposite: people CANNOT change content at all. As an experienced PMO, I now have problems with clients using the platform we recommended, simply because they cannot do what StoryBlok advertises as the primary function of the platform: change content, work as a headless CMS. Yes, I've been in contact with the support, for over a week now. Let's be honest: "Houston, we've got a problem..." And that's a huge one.

Hey Gerald! Astro ships no JS by default, so, to communicate with which plays a part to enable real-time editing feature has limitations. But we're working on a very cool feature in Astro SDK that answers your question👍 I cannot tell you yet but stay tuned for upcoming announcement from us about Astro SDK🙂

hello, I have a question. You are using Advanced paths to make visual editor in storyblok panel work with translations. But Advanced paths is a plugin which requires Business account. Does it basically mean that you need a Business account to work with i18n content in storyblok - if you want the visual editor to be usable or is there some other way for Entry/free account?
@Storyblok-com4 ай бұрын
Hello! We would like to recommend opting for the folder-level translation approach, which allows you to have custom slugs and content for each language. You can find more information about it in the Storyblok Folder-Level Translation Guide. Additionally, the field-level approach enables you to create a custom field in your content types to store translated slugs for secondary languages, it is a solution when using an Entry/free account.

Glad to hear this tutorial looks cool for you😁In case, we have several small & middle size business customers and my colleagues from sales/partner teams can answer you those questions when you submit a contact form or book a demo if it'll save yours and your clients' time to already ask all cost related questions. (You can find both URLs in this video's description above.) If you meant about the features are overkill, I was totally in a similar experience before joined Storyblok😅 But still happy that you find it cool and shared with us what you think!

I was coding along nicely, but a the part of the CLI part for composing the component schema, it went haywire. Not sure were to put this component schema. And I gues the the id in the component file is the space-id???
@arisafukuzaki17675 ай бұрын
Hey Anthony, you can place component schema JSON file in anywhere but in this example, I place at the most root in my machine. If you follow this way, you can use the same path to set in the command where is this JSON source. Id is the target space id, so you got it right👍

Looks super interesting. Is there also a way to create components with a no-code approach? Like having a visual builder for developers to create new components instead of having to code them?
@Storyblok-com8 ай бұрын
While Storyblok doesn't provide a no-code approach, users have the option to build their front-end clients using no-code tools. It's important to mention that programming skills are still required to connect to the Storyblok API

I don't understand why headless should be faster. The computation time is just "somewhere else". So instead of the monolith taking 500ms to respond, it's like 150+350+ms sending Rest-API, waiting for response, interpreting the DOM for me

Why visual editor and whole storyblock content, blocks etc UX is so complex? Why we can't use simple page builder like wordpress elementor etc. I'm technical but not able to find what is the different between block types, how i create header and footer etc.
@Storyblok-com11 ай бұрын
Hi @saifmsp7575 thank you for your feedback. We understand that navigating a new platform or tool can sometimes be challenging, especially when you've had experience with others who function differently. Think of Storyblok as building with Lego. Blocks (Components/Bloks): These are the individual Lego pieces. In Storyblok, each blok represents a modular piece of your content. Set (Story): When you assemble Lego blocks together following a certain theme or design, you get a set. In Storyblok, when you bring various bloks together, you form a cohesive story or piece of content. Blueprint (Content-Type): Just as every Lego set comes with an instruction manual dictating which pieces go where, in Storyblok, the content-type serves as this guide. It defines which bloks are allowed and what fields (like color, size) can be modified within those bloks. Reusability: Just as you can use the same Lego brick in multiple sets, in Storyblok, you can reuse the same blok across different stories. This allows for consistency and efficiency. Moreover, you can nest bloks within each other to craft more intricate designs. To give a practical example related to your use-case: Header: This can be thought of as a specialized Lego block. In Storyblok, a header might be a blok with a specific content-type named "Header" that contains fields for things like the logo and the title. Page (like a Home Page): Imagine constructing a Lego set. This "set" is like a Storyblok story of content-type "Page". The blueprint for this scene (the content-type) allows you to include certain bloks, like the aforementioned header. Footer: Similarly, a footer in Storyblok can be visualized as another unique Lego block. It might be a blok of content-type "Footer" that encompasses fields for elements like copyright text, social media links, and other relevant details.

is it possible to use storyblok to create layouts. for example i want to output some tiles in a 3 column layout, but somewhere else i decide to use a 4 column layout?
@Storyblok-com Жыл бұрын
Certainly, you have full flexibility in accomplishing this! You have the option to select the number of columns in the featured articles section. Additionally, you can create presets for each version of the component and attach a screenshot for each one. These presets can also be applied at the story level, enabling you to generate various templates for the same story. This feature proves highly beneficial, especially for designing landing pages. Keep in mind that presets capture the content and configuration of the component or story at the moment of registration, but you can always make modifications to them later on.
