Man, what a great video! I was watching a show called Timeless, and it had the Hindenburg. I started wondering, "Why dont we use blimps today? What happened?" So, I googled and youtubed, and yours was the first video I clicked on. You covered all the bases! I googled some stuff as you talked about it, but I'm just really impressed! Thank you for an obviously well-researched video! 😊

It's so interesting that he wants to question others so extensively and wants them to take accountability, but has no real interest in questioning himself and his patterns of behavior, and no interest in truly taking accountability. Wow

I dont particularly like lala on the show, because of her quality of always wanting something in return. Its like you cant do anything on your own can you? Those types of people bother me specifically. To me those people social climb to get what they want. Ive had people like that around and I'm super suspicious of people like that.
@leemythic4400 Жыл бұрын
This is how I viewed her as well. It drives me crazy that so many people think they know what her intentions were because they could never put two and two together.

Did you experience that level of time micro tracking in one organization? Or multiple? That is insane. I work as a consultant and I've hired consultants and I never would I ask someone for that level of detail, and I've successfully told my clients I'm not giving them that level of detail.

I've always had a soft spot for James! He can be such an asshole sometimes but he's hilarious. I've always thought that his body-shaming/putting-others-down routine is just an outer manifestation of the relationship he has with himself. He does seem like a delicate guy deep inside. I wish him and Allie the best :)

Is Trauma also considered an "overlay" of personality? High anxiety responses are often linked to trauma, but here it seems to be a personality trait of Enneagram 6 - does Trauma create that personality type?
@hachimama Жыл бұрын
Definitely trauma is an overlay!!! that is a huge factor in how our personalities come out!!! In the Enneagram we believe that people are born with their types, but trauma can effect our levels of health and the way we act out our type!!!

I really like your analysis of the VPR crew. As far as James goes, he's not the number 1 guy. Too volatile. I feel like Kristen really broke James' heart. I think a lot of his behavior on the show is just an f u to her. As far as his outbursts, being an adult raised by an alcoholic messes you up. People don't understand the deep psychological abuse and neglect that a kid goes through when 1 or both of their parents is always intoxicated. They're never present for you so you will do ANYTHING to get their attention. I feel for James because of this but he really needs to work on himself vs keeping up appearances.
@hachimama Жыл бұрын
That is sooo true!!! His parents did some damage for SURE.
@ginao6810 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think Kristen made that much of an impact on him. He dated her to get on the show, she dated him to move on from Sandoval. They both entered with the wrong intentions so it’s unsurprising it ended badly. I do agree that his parents did a number on him. As someone with an alcoholic parent, James screams of a kid trying to get his parents attention. And James’s poor emotional regulation comes straight from his parents. You don’t need to regulate your emotions yourself - that’s what’s the booze is for!
@ginao6810 Жыл бұрын
I’m so glad you made this video. I first watched VPR in 2019, watched in over 6 weeks while on the treadmill. And James Kennedy had me INFURIATED. I was viscerally filled with anger watching him on the screen. Then his mother came on the show. Wow, did that change my perspective on James. Her examples of her good mothering were clothing her kids in Burberry and a how much they spent on schools and vacations. Shows the values James was raised with. And she would have the same emotional outbursts James is known for. Except she was a woman in her 5th decade and James was 23. No wonder he never learned any emotional regulation. As for his 3 type, I was thinking during this season about James and his DJ career. People don’t take it very seriously, but James had been working on his DJing longer than anyone else on the show has been pursuing any of their passions or projects. The show started with the cast working at Sur while they pursued their dreams and James is the only one to make that happen.

Can someone's type change over time? When I've tried taking the quiz to find out my type, it was hard to answer many of the questions based on my entire life because I was so different when I was younger. I ended up as a 5, but that's based on how I've been for the last 15-ish years.

In the Enneagram world we believe that someone is born with their type and carrie’s it their whole life (with varying levels of health!! However, there are three types that make up your Tritype/Trifix. So maybe the other numbers are a part of your Tritype and that’s what you’re picking up on?

I am not trying to be critical or to gatekeeper. However, from a psychological standpoint - one is not neurodivergent if they are a narcissist. Narcissism is not a neurological condition - it is a personality disorder. These are different things. Neurodivergence is based on a neurological condition - ie conditions that have ‘traits’ that are caused by the way the brain brain is wired (e.g. ADHD, Autism, Tourette’s, dyslexia, etc.). Personality disorders like Narcissism are a type of psychological disorders, which are caused by a variety of things like genetics, trauma, personality, situational stress, etc. (e.g. anxiety, mood disorders, depressions personality disorder - Narcism, BPD, etc). Psychological disorders are defined by symptoms, behaviours, and/or emotions. Psychological disorders significantly impair quality of life - and are illnesses that can be treated and worked on. Neurological conditions do not inherently impede quality of life - difficulties arise from having a brain that is wired differently from what the world is designed to accommodate - which in turn can cause trauma, frustration and lead to psychological disorders. Neurological conditions are not illnesses and are not to be treated but rather accommodated to make life easier. Essentially, neurological conditions are based on how you interpret and relate to the external world. Psychological disorders are generally how we relate to our internal world - emotions, negative thought patterns, etc. Neurological conditions can lead to psychological disorders. But psychological disorders cannot lead to neurological conditions (although they can mimic symptoms). Neither is better or worse than the other. They are just different, and language is important when describing these complex issues.
