I can’t thank you enough for this video. Your cast on technique has saved me so much time I used to spend unraveling when I didn’t pullout enough tarn to complete my cast on. In turn, it also saved me from wasting yarn, because I used to overcompensate and have a tail much too long.

does this work on polyester yarn?

I like to slip from L to R, then pass the stitch behind the slipped stitch over and off. No lump.

I like the method and the added look it gives versus other methods I’ve seen. When I did it myself I found pulling it snug needs be done a few times otherwise it gets too tight and doesn’t snug up as much in the middle. It could be due to the yarn I’m using. I’m guessing it will slide easier if using a soft yarn.

I am very late, but thank you SO much for your help with this! I'm still very much a beginner and counting stitches have always been an issue for me, and trying to find out if the turning chain counted was impossible to find an answer to online until I found this video. Thank you again!

First time knitting- I am very visual so this video is so helpful. Would I need to get the pattern to make this blanket as a beginner or can it all be done following the video? Thanks

Hi how would you go after you knit the first stitch. Do you just continue like normal and use your fourth needle (bare needle) to knit the rest
@NanettePigeon28 күн бұрын
I find your tutorial very good and easy to follow. I have almost finished my first throw blanket and it’s turned out nice not perfect but nice. Do you have any other patterns for easy knitting with a tutorial. Your voice and teaching are very calming.

How long does it take to make a throw size (w/o fringe) for a complete beginner? I’ve never knitted anything only hand crocheted a chunky blanket
@asliceofjackie91Ай бұрын
I know this is an old video but I'll ask anyway: Why does not counting the turning chain as a stitch cause an increase when doing double/triple crochets but not when doing single crochets? I don't get the difference, why it's an issue with one stitch and not the other.

I haven’t seen you in a while. Have you ever written the pattern to your crochet 2 by 1 ribbed hat? I’m not sure the name you called it?

I've been knitting since I was 6, 52 years (but never a blanket and was looking at what people do to knit big blankets). My English Grandmother (born 1908) taught me to knit. I found this a strange way to cast on and I've never seen holding the wool in your left hand.

Hi there. I have just found this video; I am in New Zealand. I am a complete beginner. I went to your website and need to ask please, is it between 7 and 12 or 7 in total or 12 in total skeins (balls?), of wool I will need to make this beautiful looking blanket? I am excited to begin! Thank you for sharing your gift of knowledge and experience here. I hope to build my confidence in knitting this for myself and family members. Thank you for your time.

Yes. You can modify any pattern in the world. That's why it's amazing. Use what you've learned to do so.

I chose this as my first ever knitting exploration! I'm following along with all the exact materials. I made it to just after the 12 minute mark but I'm confused about the part you didn't demonstrate, which string do you clip?
@SewHomey3 ай бұрын
Oh I’m so sorry! That’s the biggest flaw of this video… If you’re following along, then you’ve been casting on with 2 strands. You need to cut one of them shorter to weave in later. It doesn’t matter which one. This video will help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5qqgXqso5djhKcsi=VUeqqlu1paJIUu3Z

If you flipped to the sides of the wrong/purl side of the work and blocked it that way, would make a difference?
@SewHomey3 ай бұрын
That’s a really good question. Definitely worth experimenting with! It could help with the curling.. but I’m not really sure how much without trying it for myself. Sorry that’s not very helpful, but I’ll have to give it a try and get back to you. Thanks for the idea!
