As someone who was unaware of the meaning, I learned that scaffolding is when a E.B. student receives structured support that leads to independent acquisition.

Many of these concepts are brand new to me with my South Carolina education! I am curious and excited to learn more about them, particularly when it comes to scaffolding for bilingual students.

Although English is a first language for me, it helps to learn more about language proficiency in order to assist EL students and also communicate with their families. We cannot use our lack of education as an excuse or reason for being unable to effectively assist those in need.

I'm a new 4th-grade teacher from Mexico, and this video really helped me understand the four language proficiency levels the Texas Education Agency talks about. It's been a bit of a learning curve adjusting to teaching here, especially with English Language Learners. But knowing about these levels-Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and Advanced High-has been a game-changer. It's made it easier for me to adapt my teaching to meet my students' needs. This video's been a real lifesaver for a newbie like me!
