I love that someone made a longer video of will sparks style which has that melb feel to techno. Id love more of this of shortround, restricted and will sparks style of processing sounds and even the small stabs (woosh) sounds you hear and how its processed. great video not many people cover this type of techno in tutorials/walk throughs if you could actually show the midis of the leads and small stabs how its arranged in midi is like one most important things

what is the difference between stab and donk
@francoispml
@francoispml 16 күн бұрын
I'd say a "donk" is a deep plucky sound and lives more in the bass frequencies, while a "stab" can be a short, plucky element across all kinds of frequency ranges
@_pancamo
@_pancamo 16 күн бұрын
Ohh , so if a take the donk sound oct up low cut freq, will sound like a "stab" , It will sound similar but not exactly like one??
@francoispml
@francoispml 16 күн бұрын
@@_pancamo kind of yes. However, a Donk that is meant for the bass region will sound better in the low frequencies, if you pitch it up, it might start sounding pitchy weird - depends on the source sound.
@_pancamo
@_pancamo 16 күн бұрын
@@francoispml Yes, that was my doubt, if you can do a donk to stab it won't sound good but you can, but it's better to each one in his place

Just curious how you guys reverse engineer these tracks? You using a stem separator then looking at each component?
@francoispml
@francoispml 25 күн бұрын
I'd say mainly listening to parts, looped sections over and over again. If you've been producing music for a while, you kinda have an idea what kinds of sounds have been used to create the instrumentals of a track, because you most probably have incorporated similar sounds into other productions before.

Hey, I can imagine there are some free tutorials on youtube for this very subject. In our context on PML, we've made a full online course on this subject with tutor Yannek, who walks through the setup of everything and then creates a lot of cool sounds with the Sub37+Ableton. To get an impression what to expect, here's a free session from that course on our main youtube channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fH7YiI19i9ZkjKc

Thanks Leonardo! Tough question :) Organica 5 contains many one shots and looped drum and percussion sounds that can be used in afro house and other genres. The afro house pack is specifically tailored around these very sounds of the genre here.

How do you adjust the vocals?

@@francoispml I think the question is. How to warp the vocal with the track
@francoispml
@francoispml 28 күн бұрын
@@j.bonatelli 1) Usually, you try to get both elements to run the same bpm if possible. 2) If the starting points and bpm don't align from the get go, you will need to manually position and warp the audios until you perceive them to sound good together and within the groove. This case is usually true in probably 75+% of cases when working with recorded vocals etc.. If you're completely new to this, it should be worthwhile to watch 1 or 2 tutorials on "how to warp audio" in Ableton Live, to get a good sense of how its done.
