The human perspective causes us to think rodents are completely blind, as we have several visual capabilities that rodents lack & Vice Versa. But actually, Rodents are only completely blind for a short time after birth (up to 14 days). They are nearsighted, which causes them to mostly only be able to focus on objects up to 1 to 2 feet away. They can even recognize/remember human faces. You are on the right track as they do have poor eyesight & are colorblind, unable to see the color red, & mostly only able to perceive blue & green. Nonetheless they can definitely see, just differently :)
