Here we go, making up stories. Never in the history of the country was there a law forbidding or banning languages. Please concentrate on sex and sexual education and leave history to historians.

You are propagating false info of Oromigna in Ethiopia. During king Hailesilesa , the Dereg there was a radio and TV program called kopi Afan Oromo. You are fabricating false violence rhetoric to gain benefit from these this is undemocratic to get something from others and Allah does not like it

I am Oromo. I know Tultu Tufa’s work on kids Oromo language and I supported and proud of it! My grand father and mother used to speak only Afann Oromo. There was nothing called written ban of the Oromo language. He fought against the Italian invasion of Ethiopia during the 2nd world war. There was political marginalization of the Oromos by dictatorial kings and emperors predominantly Amharic speakers. And in 1974 an earth shattering Revolution erupted in Ethiopia and the entire old system uprooted. A revolution in parallel to the Russian revolution. Ethiopia unfortunately is struggling to establish a democracy. And since the revolution, Oromos , Amharas, Tigrayans ethic elites grabbed power and established bloody dictatorship… the fact is enough to mobilize for freedom and justice without trying to match what happened to the Palestinians … it is an offense to the Palestinian cause.

Historians have confirmed that Ethiopia is one of the ancient state in the world with a long history of government. When many civilizations fell and disappeared, the reason why Ethiopia did not disappear was because it accepted different religions and lived with respect to different tribes Called plularisim. According to Islamic historian When the relatives of the Prophet Muhammad lost their shelter, it was the Christian King of King and government that received and treated them as his citizens. This is mentioned in the holy Qur'an to this day. Second, according to the famous medieval historian Samantha Kelly, King Claudius, who was ruling Ethiopia in the middle ages, was asked by a foreign adviser "why you don't expel people who differ from your religion (christanity ) from your country. " He replied to him " It is out of the way and the rule of my forefathers" She recorded that in her book. Dear reader I wrote the above two examples even in middle age Ethiopia accept diversity and it was the pillar of the country. According to Gandhi, the rice children who grew up in foreign missionary 'thought' went through different propaganda.

I really appreciate your efforts to teach & strengthen Afan Oromo in your community. During Emperor Hailesilasie time Afan Oromo was intentionally banned at schools, government offices, courts, religious organizations, medias etc. The Oromo thanksgiving Irrecha was never recognized. But there were Oromos who tried to change that at the time. But were jailed , warned or executed at the time. Mamo Mezemer a pioneer who requested Afan Oromo be taught @ schools as one subject was first warned by the officials of the time. Jailed second time. After being freed he started teaching by his own & encouraged others to follow him but this time he was jailed & executed. Fast forward today: thanks 🙏🏽 to those who sacrificed their life & revolted against the Emperor, that era is gone with the wind. Today Afan Oromo & its culture has been strengthened to the years to come. Geleta Waqa❤

What In the world of madness and false narratives possessed your dad to so misinform you, an otherwise smart and intelligent lady!!!! My word. Pray how was Oromiffa banned for a 100 years when we had Ormomiffa songs, regions and people speaking it, Ethiopian most famous artists like Tilahun Gesese singing at least one Oromiffa song per album, so many Gospel songs and Omomiffa Bible….this is so crazy…. So crazy. Your dad may have needed to tell that kind of story for “immigration purposes” but for him to teach this to you and brain wash you…..please….!

This is absolutely a fairytale and has nothing to do with reality. Afaan Oromo was never banned in Ethiopia and there were even well known top musicians who published their oromo songs to the public. The only thing that had happened in Ethiopia is that there was only one official language for administeration and school. just like almost all african countries, local african languages still today are not used for administration and school. The only difference in Ethiopia is that the one official language was a local African language which have been used as a palace court language in Ethiopia for over 700 years. That afaan oromo together with other local languages were not used for administration and school doesn’t mean it was banned. There absolutely zero evidence for any language being banned in Ethiopia ever. That’s the reason why all languages are retained in ethiopia. For unknown reason, oromo elites are spreading unfounded lies and creating victimhood mentality among their communities thereby paralyzing their people. Facts are facts and the banning of any language in ethiopia is a joke and a pure lie.

I am in my 70's and know some of the origin of BS the Oromo is spreading. 1. There is no Oromo prior to 1976. There is no map by Portuguese, British etc, a region ever labeled in east Africa but, the Sidama community always existed and interacted with Shewa Amhara. 2. I have a few research material that was sent to me from ST. Marry college in Ausi to examine. There is never been any mention of Oromo in British-Ausi 1800 exploration of East Africa. 3. A material obtained from Kenya former Colonial Nairobi British city council reveal that what is Oromo today significantly lived in Kenya and Uganda part of South Sudan. 4. There was never a discrimination against Sidama that didn't apply to any on the basis of wealth than ethnicity. 5. Galla is a misnomer of a word derived from a Hebrew word Galeh meaning refugee or displaced people referring to Northern Ethiopians into Showa. If there is any region labeled Galla it simply means displaced people or sometimes applied to nomadic communities. 6. The Sidama of years 1500 through 1800 occupied much of today's Somalia, Harar, Bale, Sidamo and portion of Arusi. They were conquered and driven out of their native land by Arab Muslims from which they came to share Galleh with with Northerner refugees. At the end Showa became a center of refugees of Ethiopians driven from all sides. ... So, your lady, the history is different than the story. You can't come up with any written law Ethiopia established to restrict anyone from speaking Afan. There was even a publication legal Gazet in Afan I recall as late as 1972 before I left Ethiopia. ... The only thing I see here is your antisemetic view driven by antisemetic people because the North had close relationship with old Solomonic dynasty...
