I just got the Hartke 3500 Mofset. When I power it on, I wait about 30 seconds and then it clicks. Finally, after it clicks, it sends an output to my cabinet. Is this normal for these amps? Thanks! P.S. sometimes it clicks in after 30 seconds, sometimes it clicks in after 3 seconds... So strange. Hope someone can explain.

Underpowered in a medium room and up. I’ve used the 600b professionally for 30 years now. I use it as a preamp for vocals and acoustic guitar. The reverb tank is exceptional. These are also great monitor amps. But if your running a band through it, you will be underpowered and limited with only six channels.

I’m an amp repair man and I made this video to demonstrate that the amp is working. I’m playing a fender Strat directly into the amp, no effects at all. Maybe you hear the 4ths with the distortion. In my opinion this is not a great sounding amp. I don’t understand why it’s getting all the views it has gotten, considering some of the other great amps that I demo on my KZbin channel. Thanks for listening!

I think my seventy four silver face is just as loud. 135 watt might be fake news.
@pontiacpete Жыл бұрын
I agree that your twin is really loud, they all are. Great amps! The 135 does, however have a very large power transformer and the high voltage on them is closer to or above 500vdc, and it’s a good idea to use 5881s and not modern production 6L6s. They can’t handle it. The old US made 6L6s can but they are pricey. Your 74 twin makes about 460vdc. The 135 has a bit more clean head room and would most likely have more output power. Also, it is called ultra linear because of the output transformer. These output transformers have extra windings to provide the screen voltage to the power tubes. Lots of times you see this in Hifi output transformers. Giving it a cleaner sound. Anyway your amp is still freaking loud when working properly, putting out 90 or more watts rms. Who really needs more than that. Thanks for looking,!!

Normally you turn off the standby, wait a bit and then turn off the power switch. Or am I doing it wrong since 1979?
@pontiacpete Жыл бұрын
Standby is most important for turn on, it allows the heaters to heat the tube before the high voltage hits the plates. Turning the amp off, doesn’t matter how you do it.
