I think about 80, took it on the freeway a few times, but since I am a beginner I am just cruising around 65 ish most of the time. It can go a lot faster though.

I love this bike.. I bought a brand new in 2009 (K9 model) and had it until late 2020 (when I had to sell it, unfortunately). Then, a year ago, I bought another one (an older 2003 "Volusia" model), but I gave it to my GF (as I bought a C90T). But, in the days ahead, I'm going to have a look at a few more candidates for purchase, as this bike is the perfect fit for me. Ride hard & ride safe.

That's cool. Yeah, I am pretty tall and it is very comfortable to me, no complaints at all. The C90T has a little more juice, right?

@@sagauer I'm only around 5'6" and ~130 pounds, but riding either feels perfectly fine to me - however, the weight of the C90 is really felt, especially when I'm moving it with the engine off, as you can imagine. Also, it's not a good "let's do just a few miles" commuter.. However, the upgrade to comfort is definitely there, due to wider tires, wider front seat, a much more comfy rear one and a better suspension (+ the T model has a huge windshield, protecting me from pretty much anything) - and yes, the engine's increase in power is felt. The C50 starts to vibrate and get not-so-comfy at some 85mph (definitely above that), while the C90 does fine up to some 100mph. My max speed (with GF in the rear seat) was 105mph, and the vibrations were still more bearable than the afore-mentioned C50 ones. For me the single "true" benefit of the C90T is its capability to carry two people from point A to point B via a highway at (relatively) high speeds while still providing the comfort described above. Yeah, I can also imagine that riding through mountain passes in Austrian Alps (where there are numerous counterparts to e.g. Tail of the Dragon in the US) being a less demanding task on the engine - but on the other hand, I already did all that on the C50 (with GF and fully loaded) and didn't / don't / won't ever complain about that experience. Yeah, the C50 is really THAT excellent, IMHO. Also, I need to mention, that I have never-ever had any issues with the C50 (smooth 11 seasons of riding with just the prescribed regular maintenance - e.g. 1st battery pre-season charging occurred prior to season 10 only), but quite recently - in my only 2nd season with the C90T - I encountered a big charging system failure. 1st time I could powerbank-start the bike and get home, but the 2nd time I had to tow it back to my garage 😞 So now I have to replace [possibly the battery, but definitely] the stator and the regulator/rectifier (switching to a mosfet one, which runs 50% cooler). From what I've read, this is a bit of a common issue with those bikes, and though it's not too big of a deal (in terms of any failures with any bike), it still is quite annoying and also somewhat costly (akin to a complete regular service check & maintenance in a shop). LbnL I think you can understand, that my confidence in the bike & my corresponding eagerness and willingness to just ride out 'anytime to anyplace' dropped a bit, as a result.. We'll see 🙂 Lastly - if you are really tall (and heavy 🙂) the C90 may be a fine fit for you, but I'd suggest to go straight for the C109, as both visually & components-location-wise, it resembles the C50 much more (= easier maintenance). And of course, the power it delivers is proportionally superior to that of the C90 - and I haven't heard of any systemic issues with these classic beasts.

If it is your first long storage remember to change the oil,take one of the tool available to keep in check your battery and from time to time also check the pressure of the tires. Might be a good idea clean the fuel tank,etc. If you want you can even put the motorbike over a stand to better preserve the tires. Give a look at some videos about what do to, since even that your motorbike isn't recent and have little to none electronic, "modern" motorbike don't like to don't be used for long period of time.

Thanks for your comment! Yes I am using the heel shift, I've gotten better now, but it took some time getting used to it. It seems to me that you try very hard to convey the sensations you are feeling on the bike, and that is worthy of praise. Simply tell you that it is the best channel to watch an onride of a c50. By the way, how is the c50's power when accelerating? In the video it looks quite strong.
@sagauer
@sagauer 11 ай бұрын
Thank you, yes indeed it feels amazing. The previous owner put a lot of work into it, it only has 5000 miles and it is a 2009. It accelerates well and it feels really powerful, but it is my first bike, so I can't really compare it to anything else. I have no problems on the highway keeping up or passing cars at 70 mph, but the wind gets heavy without a shield. That might be an investment for the next year. Thanks for your comment, let me know if you have any more questions.
