How relevant are these stories today? Only a few years ago, I saw a little girl selling pieces of chewing gum on the streets during the Syrian conflict and thought of this story.

Doesn't the mother in this story sound like your typical narcissistic parent? - one child is blamed for everything whereas the other child can do no wrong - until they embarrass the parent that is!

The traditional version doesn't end so well for little miss Hood! In later versions she is avenged by a woodcutter and brought back, essentially by magic.

It’s been ages since I last read anything, and this is still my favorite book. I’ve missed it. Thank you for recording this and the other parts you’ve uploaded so far. You have a lovely and very soothing voice.

Pretty please consider making playlists for each book or something if you don't combine them? Idk lol it would make all the stories easier to find.
