Just found you while working on my DK jelly roll- I’m listening to all the places you buy yarn and I said - she’s got to be a New Englander. So hi from Higganum, Ct! I agree completely about seaming/weaving in ends. All my scrappy blankets are join as you go too, and my rule is when I finish a row I have to weave in all the ends before I can start the next!

Hi from Newtown!! Glad you found the channel. I love the weaving in ends strategy to keep them under control. Such a great idea!

Hi, I enjoyed your video very much and subscribed! The scrappy blankets are beautiful! I am an avid crocheter and have determined to learn to knit this year. Passioknit Kelsie has a chunky beanie tutorial for circular needles that seems straightforward. Do you have any recommendations for good ‘Learn to knit’ tutorials? I assume Continental style will work best for me, but now I’ve heard that not all crocheters prefer it.

Welcome!! And thank you for the kind words. I taught myself to knit before the days of KZbin so beginner learn to knit videos are not something I’ve spent a lot of time perusing. A quick search did find this one that focuses on learning to knit as a crocheter so hopefully that’s a good starting point. Have fun!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn2kiH2tqdF7jNEsi=zxGsBFEB6NVcc-Ua

@ thanks, that was kind of you to look it up! With the fires raging here in LA and things so crazy, IDK when I’ll start my little knitting journey. Hopefully soon. But I will start reviewing tutorials and get in the flow. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Your Mario blanket has what is typically called "granny square." Your daughters' blankets are solid granny squares. All of yours are absolutely gorgeous! I've wanted to do something similar but I struggle with modular knitting/crochet. Seeing yours makes me want to start one with one of my advents. ❤

Good to know about the squares - thank you! 😃 And thank you for the kind words about the blankets. Advents are great for a project like this if you decide to start one! Enjoy!

I really need to learn to knit. I crochet right handed fine but had an amputation of left index finger. Any suggestions for knitting?? I LOVE your scrappy blankets. Also patchwork blankets are just the bomb for me.

Thank you!! I wonder if the lever knitting technique/style would be something that would work for you? I’ve not tried it myself but from what I understand you hold one of the knitting needles under your arm and do most of the work with the other hand. Hope you are able to find a way to knit that works for you ❤️

I love these blankets. I am new to the granny square, it looks like there is no standard way to make one. Would you mind sharing how you did yours? I can make them with clusters and such, but havent done one quite like yours
@ndjen26 күн бұрын
Thank you! Welcome to the world of granny squares! The possibilities are endless 😃 I’m doing a solid granny square for these blankets. Instead of double crocheting clusters into the spaces between the clusters below, you double crochet directly into the stitches from the round below if that makes sense. I’ll try to go into more detail in the next video and provide a few links to detailed instructions. Enjoy!!

Love this video....I'm a crocheter and been dipping my toes into knitting and I love that 1st blanket I hope u decide to make more videos ❤
@ndjen28 күн бұрын
Thank you - I hope to make more videos too! ❤️Hope you keep going with the knitting. The Jelly Roll is nice because it’s just the knit stitch with a little join at the end of the row which is fairly easy to learn. It’s a paid pattern and Kay has a few videos linked in the pattern that are helpful as well. Enjoy!!

I've been a long time listener of your audio podcast (when you are able to do them). I heard about your Vlogmas as Boston Jen mentioned it on her Vlogmas. I am really enjoying it, especially the girls looking for Tinsel every morning. Thanks for sharing part of your holiday.
