Hi Dave, I really enjoyed watching your video on this Humber bridge marathon because my dad was in it however I was watching and realized it cut at 3.30 and my dad finished around 3.36. I saw him in your longer video at various points however was wondering if you did have any more footage from the finish? Thanks :)

Hi, yes think the original clips I uploaded was ony 10 minuets long! In the early KZbin days "that's all that was permitted" due to the early technology! Peter Flatman and Colin Martin filmed the events. I rescued them from the old VHS Video Tapes. I re-loaded the full version Last year, when better ripping softwear was avail,able. Some of the videos were cut short though, due to camera battery life. not many VHS tapes survived as Tech moved on! which is a shame Colin passed away at a young age.

Cram too leggy for those ridiculous angular turns. Coe’s lower centre of gravity was a big advantage.

Hi, I'm sure these events you mentioned may well have been filmed by Colin Martin! But sadly Colin passed away at a young age mid to late 1990's He lived with his mother! No one knows what became of all his video's and equipment? (assuming he'd backed them up) Most of the VHS tapes I have. are what had been handed to me over the 40years+ All of which I've made some attempt to reproduce and upload. As the years pass by, the 100's Colin and Peter Flatman produced will have been lost. I think the last University 10km was won by Dave Ottaway They all make interesting viewing, and the standards are fantastic, compared by today's. If any others turn up you'll find them here! most have been uploaded before. But in the early days of KZbin they could only be uploaded in 10min Clips. Take Care and keep safe. Dave G

I'm surprised Cram agreed to do this. It's a course just short of 400 meters so he knew he wouldn't win as he had nowhere near the same degree of speed as Coe had. Must have been paid a decent amount for a guest appearance, that's all I can think of. Nice to see Coe dressed quint for the occasion, he's fucking brilliant to watch, so smooth and elegant in his running style, what a legend.

October 1988, if memory serves. It was not long after Games in South Korea the month before, where Cram competed over the 8&15, with Coe not being selected for either (crazy decision). Cram wore his famous Jarrow club colors here; Coe was more casual; apart from his signature -model Diadora trainers.

It’s on the completion of the chime, not the last stride of the bell. So even if the cottage shows the bell being struck, you have to listen for when the chime ends to see if they cross the line first.
@outsiders49514 жыл бұрын
@@redd605 They would have done it no problem (especially Coe) if the clock wasn't chiming faster than it used to. Coe can easily run 341 meters in less than 46 seconds, even if it is on cobbles in his trainers. He can run just under 46 seconds for 400 meters on the track FFS, so this feat would have been accomplished comfortably if not for the slight malfunction with the clock.
