this a good line up of players, im a personal fan of Chris Martin since I know everyone in that family pretty well, but hes also considered one of the best current symphonic trumpets in the nation. There is some serious competition though. Check out his Haydn Concerto if its still on here.

I agree!! Came across this after seeing Christopher Martin play at NY Philharmonic Holiday Brass concert. He is still the best symphonic trumpeter I have ever heard.....sorry, Joe Burgstaller☺️

I am amazed at the accuracy of you all- especially the first trumpet's accuracy and tone (I played 1st in this before and so naturally I'm listening to the 1st tmpt). A near perfect, if not perfect performance. Excellent job!

When you're a trumpet player (in high school, at least), you WANT to play this very fast, to show off. But you're right, TectonaRivv, faster isn't always better, and this tempo works just fine for the piece. Anderson himself had a very casual feel to most of his pieces when conducting, and I think these guys nailed it. Well done!

Absolutely great! This was my dad's favorite tune. The song was popular on the radio way back when. This was a super performance all the way. Five stars & Favorited!

the way they played it sounds exactly like our youth orchestra plays it, only they have more trumpets playing.

What memories these young performers (and future band directors) will have of performing this classic with the principal trumpet of the CSO! I performed this on stage of the old Arie Crown Theatre at McCormick place before it burned down in the 60's. My memories are still vivid today.

Wonderful Thank you Leroy. Regret I never wrote you a letter saying how thankful I am for your compositions, especially Sleigh Ride. Great performnace, College! Thank you, too.

I have played this several times over the years and I feel this is as good a performance as I have ever heard. The execution of the articulations is almost flawless. Also, the intonation and quality of the sound is superb and the use of dynamics very effective. Only thing I would have improved on is the projection of the high C on the final triad. This is easier said than done as the bugle call section leading up to this is quite taxing, been there, done that!

Nice relaxed tempo, beautiful trumpet sounds and orchestra not overbearing. How fun to hear it played well. When played like this, you wish it were a longer piece. Bravo.
