He definitely does the most damage to buildings and Cerebulon's first phase.

You need to die before the countdown starts after you finish dying it skips the boss.

I want to go back to running this game but I haven't been able to set any time for it, If you are speedruning this game good luck and have fun!

How do you consistently hit Goliath Prime with jump back+triangle like that. I can only ever get it like 2 times in a row and others I hit once then it misses.

There's still room for improvement having all the monsters crushed in Club Caldera and Tsunopolis alone would likely save a whole minute and just making less mistakes

Def room for improvement. He could've crushed congar and himself at the very beginning when congar jumps down off the building. Not much time but still a few seconds. I was speedrunning this game last year and with load screens I got a low 17 min run. Agamo can crush the last boss unlike any other character though lmao

I remember as a kid accidentally doing it once and never figured out how to do it again. So glad to finally have this to know how again; die as the Kineticlops die.

Under normal conditions it wouldn't be too hard to get, the first 6 hits are all that matter and they true combo just land a dizzy attack and you got it.

Thank you for inspiring me to speedrun this game again.

Absolutely, I have a few so I’ll just run through them here. What specifically makes the other characters worse than Preytor? I already know Preytor is really good and why but why are the other characters suboptimal? Can’t someone like ultra-v or robo 47 ( as well as others) be just as fast given the right tech? Also, how on earth do you get through the metropolis and airstrip levels? About half the time the ai just has it out for me and I lose any hope of a good run time past those areas is not a problem neither is before them.

It comes down to combos, although every monster has long combos only preytors and congars are true combos meaning that the ai cant block if one of the hits land. While all monsters (except kineticlops and raptros) have at least one true combo (robo 47 is lightattack,lightattack,heavyattack, back+heavyattack) they don't do as much damage, despite this I still believe the others (except kineticlops he's bad) could have potential given their strengths (ultraVs back+heavyattack is really good, I might try him). As for metro city you kinda have to know where most of the items and health are (the items on top of the four tall buildings must be grabbed before the ai gets to it). As for airstrip I usually make sure to at least grab the 100 health at the end of the airstrip. If your unsure if a combo is true or not go to 2 player set to unlimited play and have one player hold block while the other player does the combo you want to test after landing a dizzy attack (heavyattack+up) if the player holding block blocks at all during the combo its not a true combo. I hope any of this helps!

Yeah, that’s kinda what I’d been thinking already, as far as metropolis goes (and as far as kineticlops goes, he’s awful, though I think zorgulon is worse, the worst in fact). The biggest problem I’ve been having with those levels is that it’s a gamble whether I’ll get the items first and win or get stunlocked and lose my run or they simply grab the items first etc etc. Airstrip is similar but not quite as bad as you can get to the spears a lot faster there than you can in metro. Fun fact: I used to play this game a lot as a kid, I thought I was really good too, was super excited to finally beat the first boss, then I came back later and thought I was really good because I could play as raptros and throw items at everybody. Then I watched your run with preytor. Well there goes my pride.

Side note: I’ve been fiddling around with zorgulon a little looking for a true combo, does he actually even have one?

For speedruning I find the Congar and Preytor fight the hardest. With a large map and items in hard to reach places, there is a lot that can go wrong which could result in big time losses (or a softlock).

Yep, you just have to stun him and then hit the building so it crushes him. You can do this same thing later on when facing Ultra-V as well. If you play Ultra-V it's super easy to pull this off as your ult stuns your enemy and pulls him to your position.

Better mobility and she has an easier time fighting certain monsters than Agamo but she's not as good for fighting the bosses.
