Wanderers this morning came by Where did they go Graceful in the morning light To banner fair To follow you softly In the cold mountain air Through the forest Down to your grave Where the birds wait And the tall grasses wave They do not Know you anymore More, more, more Dear shadow alive and well How can the body die You tell me everything Anything true In the town one morning I went Staggering through premonitions of my death I don't see anybody that dear to me Dear shadow alive and well How can the body die You tell me everything Anything true Jesse I don't know what I have done I'm turning myself to a demon I don't know what I have done I'm turning myself to a demon

I'm used to hearing this song harmonized with another singer. This is equally powerful. Just a beautiful song and a spectacular performer.

I love this guys voice, it sounds great on record, but this performance was just awful. He needs more voice training and more practice performing live. If he does that, he'll be perfect.

ProtagonistNonTheist It is the very imperfection that makes it so good :>) as is First Aid Kit's version.

There's no mic bro and it's recorded with a camera so of course it's not going to sound as good as a studio recording or a live performance recorded properly.

+ProtagonistNonTheist hmmm overall very good performance. Maybe his belted notes in the chorus sounded slightly strained, but could also be the camera sound.

@chaffel3 The best trick with the TX is taking four or more patches and layering them, each detuned slightly from the other. I used a modified version of the Analog Bass patch and created eight layers detuned +/- 1, 2, 3, 4 - powerful stuff!

@chaffel3 Pitch shifting by means of an Low-Frequency Oscillator IS modulation. While most synths won't bend the pitch of an outside source, they would effect the internal voices. When I owned an Alesis Micron and Yamaha TX81Z in the past, they were both capable of this kind of modulation.

My beautiful son turned me on to these guys. In return I played songs that reminded me of what I thought was their roots. I played him some cuts off of Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" and Buffalo Springfield. It was a great moment albeit a small one. I guess the point I am trying to make is how music bridges generational gaps. I now love the Fleet Foxes, but I love my son even more for not being part of the bullshit corporation music scene.

Sounds like an LFO routed to pitch, am I right? Could easily be replicated on most synths.
