**** JUMP TO THE START: 1:00 - This is really so endearing how Bob kinda sheepishly asking how much Shirley and the cast and crew knew about the Cowsills... At first, as the Q&A proceeds it seemed a little sad that here you have wonderfully talented Bob, with his and his family's huge accomplishments, kind of relegated to some tier-3 level where a "star" at that time had no earthly idea who they were or that they even existed at all.. Then slowly as this proceeds, and Bob keeps asking the right questions and draws information out from Shirley, Shirley discloses things that we might have thought that BOB knew --- but he didn't... Such as, that Shirley was informed she was playing their Mom, a real person, and the family of singers was all real, but the joy on Bob's face just to hear Shirley say "oh yeas well we knew what your Mom looked like, and all of you, because they brought in all these pictures of you" --- It's kind of like the semi-deflated Bob at start re-inflates with the pride of knowing that the TV producers -- even though they passed on the actual Cowsills to play themselves, did in fact value their whole accomplishment and legacy or else the TV show would never have materialized. It's a really sweet dialogue, with such mutual politeness and manners. I am really happy to have gotten to see this. (But please cut the the preceding before 1:00 - it is really agitating. Please use the built-in KZbin editor tool to cut it all out. It does it without re-uploading, without losing views, likes, subscribers. It would take maybe 3 minutes to fix this :)

Such wonderful insights. We kind of really love the beginning. Bob was nervous. We all were! It's Shirley Jones! But they were both fantastic in getting to the heart of what really happened between The Cowsills and The Partridge. The Cowsill kids were in the dark about so much of their history.

1:23 - I wish this were the actual release and we could see it high-rez. I know you shot and made the Cowsills documentary, great job on that. It's sad to me, though, that this is such an exuberant triumphant song to come from this family, but it's buried all over youtube with really low-quality video. I follow and understand that none of our video tech was great at the dawn of the youtube era, where the web was still young and bandwidth was a real constraint. I'm even surprised that this upload is 480p and not 360p for its age. I just wish that amidst the family and you there was someone or the money found to pay someone to upscale and remaster some of the footage, and re-release this as a music video in true hi-fidelity. It's wishful thinking only... it probably has to live in all our heads as a disparate collage of visuals and signals in our brains filling in to create the experience in the mind. Such an amazing song -- I've just never seen it illustrated in a manner worthy of its caliber :)

It is a truly great song. We made this video one day when we felt really stuck on the documentary. We were using what was available at the time and the source material is from all over the place so it would be impossible to recreate the timeline but maybe some AI is coming towards us that could clean it up.

Great clip. Not only the song, which is so good, but the conversations before and after. So interesting to hear their own perspectives on things, like, where they would have been if there had been no band. As always, their bond, their love for each other translates to how much fun they are having performing and what respect they have for each other. Thanks sharing.

Louise, was there any particular reason why Barry didn't "suit up" with the Red Sox shirts like the rest of the family? Was he just marching to his own drummer, as they say?
@louisepalankerАй бұрын
He had one on earlier in the day. I think he just thought it wasn't his look and he went with the headband only. It certainly was no disrespect for The Red Sox.
