I am new to striper fishing and have always heard people say find the birds, but never knew really what to do after locating them, and finding birds has never produced for me. After watching this video, I will definitely be giving this a try on lake Hartwell this weekend. Thank you for making this video!

Nice tip for the hooks. I tried free lining and planer boards for the first time Saturday. Got into them near Dreher Island. Had my leader break off 3 times and had the hook come out 3 other times. Was using a circle hook but might try the hook you suggest. Thanks!

great technique ! It works on everything .

So that little stop thread... you can "tie" it on using a UNI KNOT and some nylon sewing thread or such. I do it all the time and you don't need the pre-tied store-bought stuff. Also, since it's a UNI KNOT, you don't have to slide it on the line, you just tie one on (so to speak). I use my depth finder to see the hook/lead go down right at the transducer and just above the fish to figure out where to tie it on. Then it's right there for the fish every time.
