Notice Ian Broudie didn't say a word since he obviously knew exactly who it was and probably felt this whole thing was stupidly demeaning.

My opinion is like it is for all my favorite bands from the 80’s. Leave the special memories special. You’re not going to recapture those days. Original members aren’t part of these bands and they lose the magic when integral members die (Queen, INXS, The Cars, Def Leppard, Earth Wind & Fire, AC/DC and of course Big Country just to name a few). The magic is lost either through death or old age. Dudes and Gals pushing 60 and beyond should know when it’s time to pack it in and just do something else with their lives. The drive may be there but no one stays 21 forever. The looks and sounds are long over and the performances become embarrassing, look at Billy Idol, David Lee Roth and The Rolling Stones among so many. Most of them have grandkids the ages they were when they started. Being on stage does not turn back the clock and keep you forever young. Good attempts for some but it’s not the same, and never will be. Times change, music changes and people age, we all do. And even when all the members are alive, does it matter? It’s like an athlete who has a wonderful record instead of retiring a champion, they leave defeated. Find something magical to give back and leave us to enjoy the memories, and that’s not just from the 80’s. I remember watching the people from the 50’s and 60’s trying to recapture those decades and thought it was sad. They need a reality check, deal with it with dignity and leave fans with fun beautiful memories, not a bunch of geriatrics embarrassing themselves trying to relive their youth.

The crowd is insane. Normally in the standing bit you get gaps near the back, but it's absolutely packed, amazing.

I suppose I'm looking at a crowd of Gen X TV watching normies. If these geriatric nuisances had listened to the lyrics of this song then maybe Gen X wouldn't have become low eye cue and complacent. Bet a dollar the geezers went home after the show and turned on the nightly night show.

Much more about image than music. I won't be buying the album. The last decent album Gary Numan made was Exile, circa the '90s. He seems to thinks he's NIN version II, these days.
