Democritus was actually not wrong about many or most of his claims. He *defined* the atom as the smallest indivisible thing--he did not claim that what we later *called* atoms were that indivisible thing. Electrons and quarks are indivisible, and a handful of these make up all the conventional materials we're familiar with. Heavier matter has heavier nuclei, made from protons and neutrons composed of up and down quarks, for example--that fits into his theory that materials with more "atoms" weighed more. By his definition, that was true. His concept of slippery vs. "more stuck together" atoms could be considered correct also, if we consider higher pressure to be "more stuck toether" and higher temperature to be "slippier", etc. Considering that he had no direct observational capability, I'd say he nailed much of it.
@ThermodynamicsYT3 күн бұрын
That's a good point, he was closer than we think but it's unfortunate that atomos because the word for a specific collection of fundamental particles rather than the particles themselves. You could argue string theory is the real atom.

You can really see progress in this short what, three weeks? You still have room to grow, but I would do something about video formats, create new one, because you can see in your view count, that your newest element videos are not as popular as your videos about creation of computer out of anything, or desmos tutorial, or other your early videos. For me learning elements quickly is pretty cool, but not for youtube algorythm, as I can observe.
@ThermodynamicsYT4 күн бұрын
@@pomawo From what I've seen, my element videos actually do way better than my older ones but because they're newer they haven't had the chance to get noticed by the algorithm. My beryllium one is the most viewed on my channel. But regardless, I really enjoy making these and I've wanted to do it for a while so I'll probably keep doing them until I get bored and move on to something else, I don't really care about the algorithm as long as people enjoy it.
