"Multifaceted" is a funny way of saying "in more pieces than a jigsaw puzzle" Ford. Seriously, this is just an element of writing that SHOWS that Psychonauts 2 was always meant to be. It just took us longer than I'm sure anyone wanted to get here.

My favorite by far from the Psychonauts series is still when Ford asks if you’re ready to become a Psychonaut. If you say no, he slaps you and asks “how about now?” And it loops until you say yes

The could have just left it unmentioned and players would have written it off as just a quirk of games, but instead they used it as an opportunity for foreshadowing. Brilliant.

Sasha is who Raz wants to be. But Oleander is who he IS. Oleander is his dark mirror, who he could have become if he made a few wrong choices. Raz has spent his whole life being the underdog, the nerd, the outcast, and he sees his salvation in the psychonauts.
@mevb6 ай бұрын
Appropiately, Sasha sees Raz as he was when he was his age. He was even anticipating Raz to actually overload the Censor valve in his shooting gallery, as he would have done the same in his age. When using Clairvoyance, he sees Raz as a minature version of himself.
@LashknifeTalon5 ай бұрын
Notably, if you look at the other Interns and Lili by the end of Psychonauts 2, and what their talents and leanings are as psychics, Raz is their Oleander. Raz isn't spectacularly adept at any of the other more flashy or complex powers (minus his Aquato blood, anyway)--but his physical fitness and ability to deal with hostile mental constructs rivals or even surpasses a lot of adult Psychonauts. So...he's Coach Oleander: a psychic soldier. You know, except with a lot more empathy and a working set of social mores.
@Pellimori4 ай бұрын
@LashknifeTalon what's more is that, with his ability to learn novel techniques very quickly, combined with how he brought the other six interns to work together in the final battle, that he could also be their Ford. Their Vision. A fresh set of eyes to breathe new life into the Psychonauts and bring about a new wave of innovation.

I like how he starts as he's kind if mocking it a little but then gets very involved and says the rest of it with sincerity

Over 20 years and I STILL find new things I didn't find in Psychonauts. So many small details. No other PS2 platformer was like this game. It really is a linear platformer that deserves it with how much they packed in. Other games didn't have this much stuff packed into everything or often as creative.
