How to win the Vendee Globe. 1, you have to finish. 2, don't rush the start when it's a stormy SW gale, reef down to max & ride it out. 3 Cover one of the favourite skippers they always find the right wind & get richer while the rest of the fleet is becalmed. 4 You win because of other skippers' mistakes try not to make mistakes even if it means losing some miles. 5 Pace yourself eat well & sleep well when possible. 6 Every morning think about the time you will lose if you break something & the energy consumed to fix it, slowly skiing down the piste is much better than trying to ski up it. We used this system in the outback. When it works, it’s great. It is dependent on getting a signal from a PASSING satellite. That’s the main challenge. Be quick and spiritedly when getting messages out.
