Nice game. Fujii sensei I think also would win with 2 piece handicap, though it would no longer be 100% certain and be a closer fight. A strong amateur could have some chance if they prepare thorougly joseki and play extremely precisely. With only rook or bishop, I think an amateur is guaranteed to lose, too small an advantage for the gap in skill.
@debusho_shogi_dojoАй бұрын
It's been said that ,in a Bishop handicapped game, if you make two mistakes, then chances of winning is significantly reduced to almost zero 😱

Please, make your ending a little bit quieter. Every time wnen I set volume louder for this wonderful music and dive deep into the game I get this deafening final. And of course thank you for your videos with old games. Every one of them is a brick to the international shogi world. Arigato

Why can't we watch the actual game just like FIDE chess are being broadcasted (not the same extend of course, but at least see the players live and the movements on a digital board for example).

That would have been awesome. They should pay more attention to audience overseas

I was surprised NISHIYAMA didn't stick to her usual third file rook. Also I read it is considered as a joseki to let the rook get trappped in the opening, but the IA evaluation in this game suggested the game was not even any more after the roook/gold trade ... Good luck to NISHIYAMA for her next games

Yes, that was a tough moment.

Strange castle by Kubo, never saw it. Has it any name? Is it the latest IA discovery?
@debusho_shogi_dojo2 ай бұрын
It's literaly called Rangin Rook + Millenium. It's been around for a while, and Kubo decided to use it for a surprise 😁

Final position: Instead of resigning, Suzuki plays 1.G*78 Habu answers 2.S*89 then Suzuki takes the bishop 3.Gx87 ¿how is Habu mating then?
@debusho_shogi_dojo3 ай бұрын
I guess there must be some sort of confusion. He still has a gold, so if Suzuki takes the bishop in the line you suggested Habu can play G*78 to checkmate Suzuki's King. B(35) isn't protecting 78.

How about P*11 to defend against the rook drop?
@debusho_shogi_dojo3 ай бұрын
Great observation. The concept is to make his structure ugly before you play P*17, and he won't be able to attack the edge effectively later 😁

1:58 On ABEMA TV (YT channel), the commentator gave another explanation of the pawn push in the post-game analysis. There was something about a bishop restriction (blocking the path 24-15-26) in a specific variation, but I'm sorry, I don't remember the details.
