Haven't cared much for Dream Theater sense I was a teen. But Jordan's playing on this tutorial makes me wanna go back & relisten for the keys.

I bought my Roland Fantom G7 because of Jordan. The Oasys unfortunately though it's such a wonderful Synth, it was so out of my reach financially.

I’m very fortunate, I have 2 ( 1 for spare parts if need be) the Oasys 88 version like seen here, I love it, cost me a fortune and would never part with it. 😀

Jordan Rudess is a great musician. A great keyboard virtuoso. But something annoys me about his style. What ever plays, he plays it 'too' technical. You see, he is very classical, yet he combines the modern 'rock & metal' in every genre he tries to play. It's like he can't control himself when doing 'easy listening' parts. It's like everytime he plays, his ADD / ADHD fingers want to take over and starts playing notes superfast. I know he is able to play normal and 'mellow' when he performs classical pieces, but every demo or youtube video i've seeing from him, he is going crazy on the notes. I envy him, because he is truelly one skilled master in piano. I wish I could play that good, don't get me wrong. But if I had that same skill, I would be less technical. Although, I am not such a great player, I think I do have the right to criticize, even the best player. Because it's just a matter of taste in the end.

Holy shit... That Ash is unreal! Best part is, I just placed an order for natural Ash with a clear coat top. Is this with a one piece top, bookmatched or what you randomly wound up with?
@musicman7007 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It really is :) this is as basic as it could be, no special top, just swamp ash body with clear gloss finish
