Gillian sung on the original recording of Jesus Christ Superstar and I was a fan ever since. His vocal range is amazing. Listen to Child in Time when he was with Deep Purple that is the best song of his career and that is what made me an Ian Gillian fan

I'm a King Diamond and Merciful Fate fan, but Ian Gillian has a far wider more diabolical range and sounds right evil here.

I can't believe how much clearer this sounds than the final release. Tony mentioned a few years back that he had found the master recording for this album and that he was considering mixing and/producing it again from that recording. I'd love to hear this album again, only this time the way they all intended it to sound. Other than Ozzy, this is my favorite Black Sabbath lineup. Too bad it only lasted for one album and that Ian didn't think himself right for the part, because he absolutely was. Tony thought they were getting a permanent member of the band when he joined and I think he was quite confused when Ian announced that he was leaving.

The real shame of demos like this (along with the ones that ended up on A Different Kind of Truth) is that Dave-era albums could have easily been 40 minutes each without any decline in quality instead of the barely over 30 minutes they ended up being.
@mattdaugustine15822 ай бұрын
@@vincevegas8529 right, totally true. I just meant that there was enough material to easily include another 2-4 songs per album. I'm sure that would've required too much work for Dave.

This album should have been released under giuffria not House of Lords. With David Glenn remaining on vocals because that helped define the bands sound. Gene Simmons was delusional when he made that decision for the band to be released under House of Lords and not Giuffria. This album would have made a second hit with this song.
