...a killer start. It's a shame that he had a terrible season and retired. If this was his last international, the final moto was a convincing sign that he had a lot more to give in regards to skill and fitness.

R I P Håkan "Carla" Carlqvist, a true Champion..very sad day today.. :(

Jeff Leisk had such a cruddy year in 1990, his worst since '86. His win in the 500 second moto was a fitting and sad goodbye. He certainly had a lot left in him but some freakish crashes were enough. Perhaps that is why he is still walking today? Well done to the Flying Freckle.

Man.. I was 15 and stayed for the entire weekend. Got to see the riders I read on in MXA for real and even if a no longer near as competetive sport as it is today it was among my all time highs, I was - there- and I was starstruck. Great to remind me and post this. Thanks. I also raced Vimmerby on a KX125 back in -91, actually one of Joakim Karlssons -90 bikes (Swedens 125 rider) and it was an amazing track and facility still. Jeff Ward, Bradshaw.... I can still not believe I saw them ride, from first training session to the end of the ceremonies. Great, thank you.

Amazing I was there with the Irish team, watched Bradshaw wipe out Alan Morrison over the tabletop, Bradshaw was riding completely out of control, total mad man.

+Paul Thompson Bradshaw, if I remember correctly, (and I think I do), was 17 years old, and I think it was his second season as a professional. He was fast, but every rider here knew he was a bit dingy if you raced tight with him. If he would have chilled out a bit, and may be even slowed down a bit, I think he could have had a great career. He was the first to sign a 5 year contract here in the USA with a factory team. But he burned out, and retired (breaking the contract at year 2 or 3). His mind just was not hungry anymore,--and he could have milked out all 5 years. The kid had some honor, and he was a blast to watch race.

+EarthSurferUSA great rider. think it was because he lost the 92 supercross title on the final race.

I agree a fantastic rider but in Sweden I think he was pissed he could not pass Alan Morrison and he kamikazed the table top. Alan did win the German MXGP
