Super cool video … I have a super boring techy question.. I just purchased a mamiya 645 1000s just like yours .. I put my first ever roll in it yesterday and kinda freaked when I realised there is no ISO setting omg 😮 freak out haha . I have a few very cool 35mm cameras which all have that setting .. this is my first medium format camera .. I realise you have to meter or use sunny 16 but was just looking for some tips if you have time to share any that would be so cool. Thanks so much Tommy in England.

Not sure why people would like zippers that are very easy to pull. Youre also making it easier for thieves to go in there and grab whats inside without you noticing it.

Totally agreed. For once I had M2 M3 and M6 all in the same time, and in the end i decided to keep M2 and M3. First, the viewfinder isnt as good as M2 and M3 , especially with M6 s problem with light reflecting in the viewfinder, while this is non problem for M2 and M3. Second, the light metering. This was cool for back then when there is no other option but now days we have APP that we can get very accurate light metering and we can calculate to get the best result. Much more accurate than the small light signs pop up in viewfinder. The in body light metering isnt the same as the digital M. Third, the material is no where as tough as the M2 and M3. I also had M4 and M4P before, and I think all models are worth the price, except M6.

I think really it comes down to what tool works best for you I had a Leica m4p that i paid 900 dollars for back in 2017 and after getting over my initial honeymoon phase with it I found myself shooting less because I just always wanted to baby the camera. Back then that was a lot of money for me and for what they go for now I would have probably shot it even less. A year later I ended up picking up a voightlander bessa camera and 9 times out of 10 I was always taking that camera with me because it was way cheaper and the prices weren't as inflated as they are now. So I sold my Leica and just ended up buying some zeiss glass with it. Personally I think Leica's are great cameras and the quality is there but as you said for the inflated prices they are going for now I definitely wouldn't buy one in todays market.

Can this bag fit under seat in airlines as a personal item? or is it too big.

I read concerns about the shoulder straps being attached to the back panel, and that if carrying a heavy load, they will pull on the zippers on the backing and it will open while wearing it. Has anyone had this experience IRL?

You seem to be missing the point with Leica, it’s all about the simplicity of use with no distraction from unnecessary buttons, dials etc. Get things right with a Leica and the results are amazing but don’t forget it’s the photographer that makes the images. 90 percent of my photography is done with Leica rangefinders and I rate them as the finest cameras you can buy.
