Beautiful! How do you add a backing?
@Chatterboxquilts
@Chatterboxquilts 11 сағат бұрын
Same as you do for any quilt - just measure and add about 3 - 4" extra on all sides for the backing fabric and batting; pin or spray baste and then quilt.

It truly is a wonderful thread. It's stronger than one would think. I just needed to have a little patience the first time I threaded my machine because it's harder to see. I bought a package of matching pre wound bobbins and I'm really glad I did.

This is great! We now know that adhesive products contain PFOA’s, which go in and stay in your body forever, and have a cumulative effect on your health. Using your spray puts none of this in the environment or your body.

A Very Nice and Extremely Informative Video!!! I am not a quilter, but an Embroiderer. I am learning to do Free Hand Motion Embroidery and have a very old Singer machine from the 1940s that does precisely what the CM 7 does with the Knee Lifter. I am drawing my design on the fabric, and then fill it with the variable zig zag stitch as if it were the regular satin stitch. This maybe another reason I could be getting one of these Janome machines!!! Janome have been one of my favorite brands, I Own the MC 9500 for more than a decade now, and is a workhorse!!!! Thanks for your Super Video!!!!

You talked about the plates, but I'm still not understanding why you have to chang them. What does HP mean, what is the advantage of that plate. I understand the single hole plate, but why cant you use one of the other plates.

If you check your manual, you'll see information about the various needle plates and their purposes.You can only use the HP needle plate with the HP foot - they are a paired set.

It works like a charm but be aware of fabric bleed. I had washed my fabrics before hand but when I did my test of the "adhesive" my blue bled on my white. Ugh. I will definitely use this in the future on different kinds of quilts.

So excited to try this. I followed a recipe a fellow quilter gave me and it was a didn't work well. I see now it didn't have enough water and I cooked on low for an hour and a half!! I'm not giving up. Thanks for providing the recipe and the tip to put large quilts out on a tablecloth overnight. My quilt is big.

I’m hoping someone jumps into the comments with some info about whether or not cornstarch works. It’s a tricky thing working with wheat based products if you have celiac. I’m terrible about forgetting that I need to scrub my hands when they don’t necessarily feel dirty. Duct tape over my mouth till after I’ve washed my hands might do the trick😂

Use a gluten free flour, airborne gluten can cause reactions. It gets in your nasal passages and ends up being swallowed.

I love paper piecing, it’s my favorite way to piece quilts. Haven’t tried it with freezer paper but did buy the freezer sheets a while ago. just can’t believe it could be as accurate as stitching on paper and seems to be a lot more prep work. Thank you for sharing your process.

Yes, you do need paper but you don't have to stitch through it or rip it off. "Paperless paper piecing" is the common name for this technique.
