As someone who first started crocheting in her early twenties, and switched to knitting after a very frustrating several years of attempted projects, and successfully made basic knitted projects within the first few months... I have to say that even now twenty years later, I still find knitting much easier to learn. I am just picking knitting back up (after trying crochet again, unsuccessfully) and I am very happy re-learning knitting. I can NEVER keep my rows even (# of stitches) in crochet. I always make uneven, triangular, trapezoidal pieces with crochet. Knitting, I am able to keep my stitches properly even. I sometimes drop a stitch or somehow add an extra stitch, or have twisted stitches, but I'm only just starting to re-learn it.

This has only made me even more intimidated and nervous to try doing this for my first time. I just really really wish ide paid more attention to my Mom everyday ide seen her sewing and quilting...she's now in a nursing home and isn't able to use her hands the same way to be able to sew. But I can't bring myself to get rid of or sell her sewing machines or serger...I know they're worth a ton I remember my Dad buying them for her and it being like a, well we can either remodel the bathroom or kitchen or get the server, of course my parents being artist minds and not too concerned with the appearance of our home, they chose the serger, lol. But I know it was worth it really, my mom sewed everything, from shirts of my Dads to pants, skirts coveralls jumpers even socks, my bathing suits, so cool cus my best friend and I always got to have matching clothes my Mom would make us and we'd get to go pick out what fabrics we'd want, every single blanket on all our family's and friends beds are her quilts she'd sewn, all our kids baby blankets she'd made, like seriously everything we had my Mom made, pretty cool. Granted I didn't understand the level of talent my Mother had for doing this my whole life but I've definitely grown to see and learn how absolutely invaluable her sewing truly was for our family....just one of her quilts would sometimes take her a year to finish, some of her really intricate ones ide seen her work on for many years...I'm now left with the responsibility of going through hundreds of her quilts trying to figure out what to do with them because I personally don't have the space to keep them all, im trying to figure out what the safest best way is to at least store them until my siblings and I have the time to sit down and go through everything, and learned really quick Quilts are extremely high maintenance when it comes to safely storing them long term and in a matter that will not damage them in any way...even just folding them is bad for a quilt, can't air tight seal them either...who would of know hu..blabbering here. Ide just hoped to find a video that'd help me learn to utilize these hugh quality expensive sewing machines I have now.

(Linda). Ohh Colette, I just love you and your videos. I have been following you for a long time now. Back in 2010 when I began my cooking classes, we had a pastry section to do, but it wasn't the teacher's forté, so that's when I found Craftsy and found your class, which I bought immediately. By the time I had watched you Classic Croissant, I was making at school - and what best right, i had all the industrial equipment! Well, I became "the" student that knew how to make killer croissants 😋 and this THANKS to you!! Please don't stop posting - your work is so appreciated. My girl friends around me had also jumped on Craftsy for your Croissant and Pastries and the feedback was the same, "wow, Colette really knows her stuff and teaches it so so well". Take care of yourself 🥰
