Also, Lego is clearly going for a simple aesthetic with the base Animal Crossing sets. Besides, the more pieces you put in a licensed set, the more expensive it gets. Honestly, I'm surprised they weren't marketed as Duplo sets, they missed an opportunity there.

You're correct to say that yours looks better, but it requires a different base plate, so you know they would unfortunately never do it... also, i like yours better because it actually uses the piece they made for palm trees, but I can understand why Lego didn't do it originally... mostly because for their version the fronds would have been too big
