Ok, the new driver for the James Loudspeaker 15" arrives tomorrow, and I'll break it in before leaving my thoughts. I was fortunate to buy the 15" driver directly from the manufacturer, so the tests won't be skewed. I am curious to know if you thought about making the same box, amp, woofer, and passive but adding another passive and putting them on the sides with your driver in front rather than the middle. Same footprint and save on space, deeper bass (I would think), and less power to achieve those low notes. Just curious, I'll be writing back after I've done my review.

I've been wanting to try out the James Loudspeaker 15 subwoofer ever since Niles stopped making their 15" Stagefront Pro sub. To be honest, I've always thought of "custom home built-in theaters" like someone installing elevator speakers because they cared more about room aesthetics more than they do sound. My team and I built Ozzy Osbourne's studio and theater room in Hidden Hills, CA, and I still wondered why anyone would prefer in-walls over well-built towers. I think Jessica or Ashley Simpson lives there now, but I've put in these systems and still prefer well-built towers, bookshelfs, one's easily moved and adjusted. Then I heard my first Niles system and was fairly impressed, but I was blown away with their Stagefront Pro 15, of which I'm looking at two of them sitting in my theater room. They're not in-wall subs, but I didn't expect something that good from a company that mainly does in-wall systems. Then, a few years ago, I heard about the James Loudspeaker subs and had to try one until I saw the price... I could buy a sub or pay for my future wife to get a nice set of door knockers. Either way, I'm looking at selling a Kidney to afford one or the other. That is until one showed up on Marketplace yesterday for $300, which I'm getting for $200. Sounds too good to be true? Well, the woofer is bad, but the amp, box, and everything else are in perfect condition. I should be able to repair the woofer, but wanted to let you know that once it's up and running, I'll be seeing which custom install company makes the better 15" subwoofer, Niles or James Loudspeaker. I'll let you know.

Stunning home & great installation! Would have liked to have seen some more close ups on the actual SA installations. Also curious what the integrators used to tie the whole system together, particularly with the voice input!

I think that all this metal is not necessary for a soundbar.

I really blew it at a thrift store where I found two James speakers for $125.00 each…… after showing my wife the speakers she gave me the stink eye because I buy many speakers and don’t use too many and just couldn’t see paying the 250 bucks. So she talked me out of them I did not purchase them…… After about an hour after we left the thrift store I came to my senses and told her to go to hell I’m going back and getting my speakers you’re stupid………. Of course when I got there they were gone. The lesson: The man should never listen to his bitch especially when he knows better.

So, what if i want to install these speakers in my 'normal' sized living room?... Not all of us have really tall celings... Or really large living rooms.. But yet i know theirs a chunk of us out there (including myself) that can and DO appreciate high fidelity sound... Where's the compromise?
