Another thing usually not mentioned is spiders webbifying your camera due to being attracted to the light leds. Best way is to turn those off and use alternate infrared light panels placed elsewhere.

@@ipica thanks, to clarify my issue. I work on many properties where the entrance drive and door are on ground level, but the building has a basement level below ground with a door onto a rear garden area. Lots of houses on hillsides. Anything you can do to reduce model development time will be greatly appreciated.

You can import background images in .PNG, .JPG/.JPEG, .TIFF, .PDF, .BMP, .DWG, .DXF formats. The program can also import 3D models in .DAE and .OBJ formats.

It would be helpful if users could set pixel density requirements along with the other parameters already allowed. Then the tool could provide alter its drop-down list of cameras to only those that meet all of the set requirements. It would really take the tool to the next level. I guess you would need to allow users to select resolution as well. Suggesting this because 9,000 cameras is an awful lot to go through.

Thank you very much for your feedback! To choose a camera by parameters, follow these steps: 1. Select the camera brand (manufacturers) 2. The "filter" button will appear below 3. Use the filter to select the camera according to your parameters. You can also use our program IP Video System Design Tool, where you can set pixel density requirements, select cameras according to your requirements, and much more. @@ipica Not quite the same as I was envisioning. I am suggesting allowing users to input camera parameters; i.e. min/max FOV, zoom (yes/no), resolution, dome/bullet/?, etc. and then the camera brand list would show only brands, and subsequently only camera models, that match the input parameters. Having a database with specifications is a gold mine and you can leverage that in reverse by letting users specify requirements. As it is now, users must pick a brand, cycle through a few hundred cameras to see the specifications, and then select a single camera that matches what they want. That is a tedious way of finding a camera when all you know is what specifications you want, but you have no clue who makes it or what the model is. If I had that database in an Excel spreadsheet, it would only take me about an hour to write the formulas to allow people to find the cameras that meet their needs. They could go from your 10,000 choices to a few hundred in seconds. Anyway, it is just a suggestion as I think the product would be useable by a much wider audience that way.

@@ipica I've watched the video you linked along with a few other videos. Unfortunately, the tool still falls short. I am looking for a POE, 4K, Dome, PTZ, IP66+, Outdoor camera. Seems simple enough and your database would help me find one. The IP Video System Design Tool software does not allow me to get there. Each field displayed in your camera database should be filterable. If I can't select a 4K camera (16:9 AND 4:3) and then filter to POE and then to the IP rating and so on, it doesn't do me any good. It appears to be aimed at having people pick a manufacturer. I am manufacturer agnostic so I don't care who makes it so long as it meets my requirements. As I've said in an earlier comment, you have all the data, you just need to let people actually get to it in a way that is useful.

lil ol me was interested in this but lil ol me don't have that much cash for a simple 32ch system lol no way I can justify the cost. This is something for larger installers for sure, demo is simple and easy to use.

Having already produced a cctv layout from a dwg, adding walls windows etc… I find it annoying and time consuming to then have to open a different app from a different company , with another license to manage, and go through essentially the same import and dwg mapping process in order to define the obstruction map. I love this tool but I would really really love it if I could perform Wi-Fi mapping on the same model. Produce same high quality output for clients addressing both Wi-Fi and cctv.

Fantastic tool. The 3-D with an image is very useful. I suggest that multiple cameras can be placed on the lens calculator. Also, a help or FAQ document along with the calculator would be helpful. Great tool! Thanks.
