not heated but polycarb covers ( with an air gap ) Its -2 outside this morning and the pond is 6.5c. Don't like looking at the covers but they keep the water temp up.

I agree and so do my fish they get sulky when it gets cold (I do have heat to keep them from getting too fussy).
