Great talk. A quick question: where can I find agencies? Are there any prompts I can use to find them on search engines, please? Thanks.

I visited your KZbin channel. Your video content is very good and you are uploading videos regularly. I noticed that your videos are good but your KZbin channel is not getting subscribers and views organically. Its your KZbin channel and not well optimized. I can help you grow your KZbin channel if you want. I am waiting for your reply

Why do business men and women think whats best for making them money is also what's best for a culture... its not... it dilutes a culture.. orange juice isn't orange juice if u fill it with peaches. diversity... if animal breeds included diversity breeding, there would be no tigers and lions...no black and white rhinos.. no crows and magpies...no Shetland ponies and Shirehorses...it is ironic... but not being diverse has created diversity... if diversity is the target, it will eventually wipe out all that is distinguished and diverse until it all looks the same ...

I think Ai uses data from other conversations to make some kind of average conversation if that makes sense. So it doesnt have the nuance of human conversation but with more and more informal conversations happening online its getting a lot better

At around 23:13 and also 24:46, 26:57, 27:20 (just a few examples), it's interesting how all three of you use Present Continuous in contexts I'd expect to hear Present Simple 🤔 Curious about the meaning it had for you here 🙂
@englishwritingcoach9 ай бұрын
Mmm. Yes, that's a good point. I'm not certain of why. To my mind present simple is used for habits or things the subject always does. We're giving examples about what people / companies are doing at a specific moment. In some instances, both can be correct and mean something similar. It's about how much of a complete rule the statement is for the subject's behaviour.

@@englishwritingcoach Yes. And, unlike present simple, present continuous also expresses that an action is temporary, and this could point to the fact that we observe another person's action temporarily, or that they themselves are engaged in the action temporarily.

Paola, I also speak a number of languages (Italian, Russian, German, English and French) but I don't agree with you: being multilingual, per se, is not a superpower. First of all, you need to possess good social and interpersonal skills and a strong self-confidence, if you want to be successful in your professional life. Language proficiency isn't the key skill.

Catching up now with a delay, I've got a comment on whether the manuscript you upload into an AI tool is immediately used to train it and respond to prompts from other people. I think that was how it worked by default at the beginning, but recently I heard (at the AI in Translation Summit) that at least ChatGPT has changed their policy. You always need to check the privacy settings for the tool you are using. Some tools will store your input and use it for model training, in other tools you have to actively tick that option, and the default setting is that inputs are not stored or used for training. I hope I've remembered that correctly. The general tip was that it's better to use 'secondary' tools that talk to the model via an API, rather than to chat directly with the models. Always check the privacy/chat history/model training settings though and make sure you understand the fine print.

Yes, I'm not an expert on how your data is used. I do know someone I can ask on this. I'll try and get back you on it.

Couldn't watch live so catching up now. I'm going to write down most of the errors you discussed in this episode to make a checklist for when I edit my writing 🙂 The discussion of articles and L1 interference made me think back to your discussion of native-speakerism, but with regard to teaching English. If you speak your students' L1, you may be better equipped to help them compare and contrast their L1 with English to find the devices used to convey some specific meaning. Polish does not use articles indeed, but it does have a few devices to convey at least some of the meaning they carry in English. By making the student/client more aware of what is similar and what is different, at a deeper level than just saying 'your language doesn't use this', you can help them master a certain structure more easily (obviously with enough practice).

Hey, I've got a question. Is it possible/normal that my writing style varies with the subject of the text? Like for example I use a slightly different style when talking about a loved one than when I talk about abstract subjects I have no attachment to. Great videos again!

Yes, it can do, especially with your word choices. This is also to do with Writing Voice. I'll cover that in a separate series.
