I know it has been a while but do you have any videos of you actually grinding out the landing gear openings to fit the larger gear legs? Would be interesting to see how you did that. Thanks,

Can you turn a new 182 into a 180? Can the 180 or even older yet rudder surfaces be added to a new 182? Add Manual Flap Handle? I would almost always want turbo charged fuel injection? No carb for me....
@craigcarpenter65412 жыл бұрын
Please describe the power stroke as burning fuel instead of exploding. It is a crazy fast burn, but it's not an explosion. Detonation is an explosion and we all know that's BAD for piston engines. Great video though.

Not helpful in this fast motion 😏. Did you have to scrape pieces off the frame? Time it took?……lotta questions still…

Beautiful aircraft Drew--and awesome shop. Great idea to put it off a municipal airport--too much bureaucratic bullshit with municipalities and trying to do restoration/maintenance. Been there, done that. Used to fly 135 charter out of Anchorage, back in the 1990s. Also was my dad's CFI in his M4-210...no toe brakes on the right side. Yay, fun. You guys do outstanding work in that shop--thanks for making & uploading these videos!

LyCon just did my p206a , io520, nov2020, ported and polished, compared to our CAP 206 it is unbelievable , from the mechanic to the instructor, and fellow io520 pilots, did the cryo also, but still have the mags, talked to texas and Larry V about the cross flow and it about doubled the price or more? So, stayed with the stock 206 io520, thanks for the vid,

How many hours to cover a whole plane?
@bluehornet67522 жыл бұрын
It would depend upon how much work the underlying airframe might need, but 400-500 hours wouldn't be an unreasonable expectation if there's not much else to do.

Above Alaska Aviation, 'such a beautiful Skywagon. I'm currently converting my 180 to a utility interior very similar to what you've done. I am putting the closed cell foam on the bottom half, but actually leaving the ceiling bare because I really like the clean look similar to what you've done. Was your ultimate intention to add the closed cell foam on the ceiling too OR did you like the clean/bare look on the ceiling? Thank you very much. May God bless you and your family today.

Which of all those mods are factory, or STC? Is this still a certificated aircraft or Experimental? There are a ton of mods on that beautiful machine, just wondering how you get that past the federales and register the thing.
@AboveAlaskaAviation3 жыл бұрын
Hi William. This Maule ended up having around 20 modifications. The majority of the modifications where done through factory mod kits. You can check out the list of mods on Maules website at www.mauleairinc.com/parts. This is a certified aircraft.

So I noticed the angled wrinkles in the underside wing skins inboard of the struts. My wings are off my maule because its getting some repairs. I believe my left wing has those wrinkles but the right one doesn't. Everything is square but I still wonder what causes those. It bothers me lol You can really see them at 13:28
@AboveAlaskaAviation3 жыл бұрын
Hi James. The older models were built flat and the washout was rigged into them with the lift struts, causing the wrinkles. The only way to get rid of the wrinkles would be to reskin the wings and build the washout into them.
