I dig it man. I must confess though, i have no idea what a klein bottle is haha

I should've explained that haha. but, it's like a Mobius strip, there is only one surface. A Klein bottle is that but 4D, and can be represented in 3D. @numberphile has a good video.

How low poly can you go? Will the shapes break or can I create objects with lets say just 30 faces that resemble the original form?
@BoundlessbByDesign
@BoundlessbByDesign Ай бұрын
You can go very low, but some shapes will “break” earlier than others. The ears on the dog lose their form and become unrecognizable quicker than the torso of the dog

The original picture shown seems like they also used some stretched out spheres. Some holes seem to have more width in one direction. Other than that, cool texture!

This is a very interesting concept! Is there a way to get the material thinner? Or would that compromise the structure? Just picked up a Prusa mk3, would be interested in making some for costume purposes. Also interested to see if it could function practically as armour (morbid curiosity)

Seems to needlessly over complicate the tried and true diamond shaped bike frame. You're also designing out the bikes useability for the sake of something "interesting" looking. Less space for frame bags and water bottle holders. Bonus points for looking heinous.

A reasonable explanation of the process of GD and a good example of garbage in = garbage out. I would be interested to see what a GD bike design looks like if the actual loads are fully understood by the person making the prompts and defined accordingly.

Generative design requires multiple load case inputs, not just one. This result is poor and could be considered a failure.
@philipk4475
@philipk4475 6 ай бұрын
The final result does not pass the sniff test at all! The flimsy junction at the top tube and the utterly bonkers seat stay are eye-brow raising to say the least. By glossing over (ignoring) actual load cases, you're ending up with something that is entirely useless, imo.

Correct, but pretty typical these days for ML models and surrounding processes. Whole ML industry is a big promise at this moment, with not much benefits out of it NOW. SO IMHO in bikes industry it is good for start, but yeah, useless at this iteration.

Bullshit. The handlebar is also has a twisting forces from hands while sprinting. And sure it's not the only epic fails in this. Go learn physics before doing calculations.

That and it looks like they use way more material than the standard bike design does + it doesn't seem that aero but we know that it's hard to judge by eyes anyway.

@@nilednewztop918 It's the aim of generative ai to "Disrupt" current designing. this bike loos like a piece of crap that will ride like shit. the chain/seat stay combination looks like it'll snap under 3-400 watts. let alone the "toptube" if you can call it that.
