Is that a Leyland TL12 Engine I hear? I do like these first gen DMU's and its a shame that BR didn't refurbish some of them to have the Voith self-changing gearbox that would have suited the Class 108/117 and these 121/122 DMU's nicely as the Class 142 that was 142002 had the same Leyland TL12 engine in it like this Class 121 but it had a Voith Hydraulic self changing gearbox which does sound nicer with the Leyland engine over the Cummins ones that are ten a penny on most BR second generation DMU's and Pacers.
@LeoMartinDJАй бұрын
@BritishRail60062 I believe 121034 does have a Leyland TL12 engine yes, as opposed to the AEC found in earlier models. Thanks for the information 👍

How do you get to that bridge? i’ve cycled past it many times going through Moore village but never spotted any paths that lead to the bridge
@LeoMartinDJ2 ай бұрын
@@RadeyRads Hi, I’ve copied a link below for you to Google Maps. All you do is go into the fields next to the stables and keep walking towards the railway until you reach the bridge, it’s a public footpath. maps.app.goo.gl/9AeXSbHkZwtURy3A6?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

What’s that noise in the background
@LeoMartinDJ5 ай бұрын
The 'ticking' is a spirax valve on the locomotive which provides air pressure to the brakes. It's not usually this loud, so there may have been a fault.

why don't the clowns put a window next to the driver which opens like on the old locos, a clown design
@22pcirish6 ай бұрын
Don’t need one. Signed, A Driver.
@MDBenson6 ай бұрын
The location of the side window is obstructed with modern control panels and so it wouldn't be much use. Plus at speed sliding windows leak and they rattle. Stadler's modern cabs are designed to be quiet, warm and comfortable work places, unlike those of a 37 or 47. Besides all that you can just open the door if you need an outside view, it's right next to the drivers console.

Given the circumstances experienced by TPE, there is no better chance for charter operator Locomotive Services limited to get there Staycation Mark3 stock out from the shed and fill the available slots across North and South Pennines corridors. Commuters would be very appreciate in my oppinion.
@LeoMartinDJ10 ай бұрын
Unfortunately most of the Staycation sets have been repainted now into Blue Pullman as spare coaches for that set, they had no intention of continuing the Staycation idea after 2021 which is sad as I planned to go on it in 2022 as I missed out previously. There is a gap in the market and LSL certainly have the common sense to fill it!

@LeoMartinDJ Жыл бұрын
In reality they have reconditioned EMD engines, which bare zero resemblance to either the VP185 engines fitted to the ex EMT HST’s and the MTU engines fitted to the rest. I also am unable to hear what you are referring to as the Class 57’s sound very different to a 43 - they sound more like a 66 to a 43 which is right as both have EMD engines.

Class 43s honestly were used for the intercity services for Great Western Railway until Monday 18th May 2019. Replaced by class 800s and 802s are 93 of them. I honestly like the 2017-18 trains. They are very cosy and comfortable. Class 43s are now with CrossCountry, Great Western Railway and ScotRail. XC, SR has 1st accommodation and GWR 43s has standard class only since regional railways happened in 2017.

Should be on fast line at 110 MPH Should be a Headcode 5
@LeoMartinDJ2 жыл бұрын
I believe this was an ECS runs, and ECS runs of the Royal Train still run as Class 1’s due to the high priority nature of them (if they did run as a different headcode when ECS, it would be a Class 3 not a Class 5). As for why it wasn’t on the fast lines, who knows, perhaps there was a clear run on the slow lines as you can see, many people on the platform suggests that a train is imminent (behind this) and as such, this allows it to run non stop and not interrupt the (much faster) IET’s.
