Thank you so much. I have used my camper so much that all of my ceiling light have burned and shorted out. I have been using a drop cord and lamps. My camper looks so much better now. Great job on this video.

Getting ready to put new flooring in my Rv. Thinking of using some kind of laminate or vinyl tongue and groove planks. How do you do the slide out edge so it lays flat while slide outs are out. Also can you recommend a laminate/vinyl flooring plank
@ProjectTrek4 күн бұрын
The slide outs were done exactly same as the rest of the flooring - floating. I did quarter-round trim around the edges. Where the slide out meets the main floor you’ll have to watch the video to see what I did, it’s too much to type out. Unfortunately the flooring I used in the video has turned a yellow hue over the course of 3 years, it’s expensive, and heavy. I would not recommend vinyl planking for the weight issue alone. If I ever redo the flooring in here, I’ll go with roll-out vinyl. It’s lightweight and easy to work with, and inexpensive.

Installation looks good, I am putting a 2 kw diesel heater in my cargo trailer and used a regular yellow 20 litre (5 gal) container and it lasts much longer and the suction to the fuel pump is through the top instead of the bottom (less chance of leak or spill). 🇨🇦

No issues with it drawing out of the top like that?
@dannykoroscil668519 күн бұрын
@@ProjectTrek no issues, in fact today I mounted it in a box on the front near the hitch and also mounted the pump out there and tested it all and works great. Sorry notable to send you pics through this chat. Regards Dn

I’ve been watching your videos about RV living. I recently bought a used 5 th wheel. Planning on per entry parking it and living in it. Was wondering how hard it would be ( logistically speaking) to replace kitchen cabinets with open shelving.
@ProjectTrek26 күн бұрын
Hey Robin, take a careful look at the cabinets. More than likely it’s all particle board framing and flimsy, lightweight luan walls. Also there typically isn’t any backing - it’s just the RV walls used as the back of the cabinetry. If you’re wanting to do open shelving you’ll probably need to replace the shelves (instead of repurposing the existing cabinetry). All that said, logistically it’s not difficult. You’ll need to make sure you’re mounting the shelving into something “substantial” behind the wall, like the aluminum frame. Good luck with your project!

Don't put the paper in the toilet. Not everyone does and it helps prevent it covering up the sensors.

@@ProjectTrek there was a sewer "mishap" in our campground where the hose disconnected from the sewer and not only was there waste on the ground but it was also coated with toilet paper. Even if only non-poopy paper is put in the trash it's still less stuff to fill the tank and cling to the sensors. And really, it's not a big deal. Some people use a diaper genie for the toilet paper.

I've had 3 different Splendides over the past 30 years. I discovered the easiest and most effective way to deal with the lint build-up is to backflush it into the drum with a hose nozzle through the vent port, followed by about 3 cleaning cycles. You will be amazed at how much lint is flushed out through the drain.
@stevezbАй бұрын
I was gonna make something like that on my own using pressure washer good to know they actually have one I can buy Also, once it’s inside I would move it up and down and all around so it will spray different sections of the tank

Actually if you want to clean your sensor dump your black tank and flush it till you have cleanish water coming out then fill your tank half way put a quarter cup dawn dishwasher soap with a half cup of Borax in the black tank drive around ten of so miles stop and go so the water sloshes around and when you’re done empty the tank again and should read empty if not repeat

Every RV that I’ve ever had that had a stuck black tag sensor are use the toilet one that shoots out a solid stream and rotating it and having the black tank sensor on you’ll see the sensor move from one to three or whatever that means you’ve got that solid stream on that sensor and you’re knocking all the debris off this works better than the spray toilet wand

We’ve had a lot of luck using liquid fabric softener in the tanks and it helps to keep the inner walls of the tank slickety smooth so things don’t stick as bad…. Usually filling it up with clean water just to dump it out again will rinse it clean if it ever does start reading full in error. Just don’t forget another dose of fabric softener along with a couple gallons of water in the bottom when you close the valve and start over again.

Smartest comment here that no one will read or understand was by jwlindem1 about a year ago. The video lost me when the dude said “who uses duct tape nymore then proceeds to use laundry “duct tape”. If you believe that duct tape is different because it shows laundry then you deserve to pay more. We used duct tape in Vietnam to patch uh-1h helicopters in the field. I’ve had a 2100xc forever and splendid used to have a simple fix (if you’re lazy) that they used to publish and I still use as part of my monthly maintenance. Place selector to 12 and push start, let fill up until water stops, press start and power buttons simultaneously until all green lights light up then release (this resets the machine), press start again so more water fills the machine. After second fill reset machine again and turn to drain and restart. If there isn’t too much lint caught in the lower portion of that elbow or tube the water will flush it out. There are other maintenance items that should be followed in the manual. Lastly, instead of cutting holes in machines, whether under warranty or not, find 12/2 house wire, cut off about 1/2” of insulation, slightly bend the wires in three different directions, feed through hose and down tube, twist wire while pulling and pushing up and down then pull out carefully. If going through hose do this carefully so as to not tear hose.

That pipe isn't very large. A flexible dryer vent brush might have been sufficient and a lot easier. Just scoop it out from the opening without needing to cut anything or remove the pipe. Alternatively off the top of my head, a vacuum attachment with some duct tape to seal could have worked as well.

I can't believe Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park did not make your list. Is it just because you did not visit it? Porcupine is probably the BEST state park in Michigan (it is certainly the largest). A note on Interlochen State Park Park: it is not a very good park for Tent campers, the ground is very rocky, which can make it very difficult to stake your tent (or anything else). It looks like you stayed at the Rivermouth campground at Tahquamenon Falls State Park, we really like that campground also, although we have not yet stayed at the other campgrounds there. Other fantastic Michigan State Parks include Indian Lake State Park (near Manistique, great for overnighting on the way to other U.P. parks, and probably the quietest Michigan State Park we have ever camped in), Brimley State Park (near Sault St. Marie and the Soo Locks) and Burt Lake State Park (very large sites and fantastic for boaters).
