A genuine masterpiece! Malipiero is criminally underrated. He was undoubtedly one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. The performance is simply breathtaking!

Pure Richard Strauss from first note to last note. This is fun to listen to. The chorus is so accomplished. Brilliant as you would expect from Richard Strauss ! What a harmonic language and such orchestration. A Giant of a composer.

Rezension zu dieser Sonate vom gefürchteten Musikkritiker Eduard Hanslick : Neue Freie Presse, 19. April 1878. (Hanslick.)

It's like a musical, but... better. Definitely in the mold of jazz, ragtime and the "Golden Age" Hollywood film scores.

This is a Masterpiece, no doubt about it ! I just want to wallow in the music and melt away in it. A giant ODE to the grandure and glory of the Late Romantic Period. Punctuated with 20th Century harmony here and there. This holds together splendidly. Paul Juon was a brilliant, great, composer. So, vastly neglected. Unfair ! This is a work of genius. What orchestration. The entire piece is just "WOW" !!!++++ Or let me put it in the comon vernacular...Holy Shit !!!, I'm Totally Blown Away !!!

Very witty, smart, and so well crafted. Its original alright. Almost sounds exotic at points. So much to enjoy here. The contrasts hetween the piano and winds in conposition and sonorities is a striking pleasure.

I have a question. There was a video on this channel of some Bach born in the 1640s or 1670s, but I can't find it. I don't remember the work, so I need all such videos. Is it possible to separate these into one playlist? Beethoven probably took a piece from this work and added it to the second movement of the 9th symphony.

Me desespera! 👍
