Impressive presentation of the roads and areas. I have cycled (bike packing) most of these in southern Norway and recommend it warmly.

I had the pleasure of driving 10 out 18 this summer. Words cant describe the amazing experience! It was a lovely experience with good roads, signs and plenty of clean toilets allong the road. Another good experience are the extra signs towards sightseeings. Highly recommended!

Gir meg over..

At det går an!

Why not paint the new bridge green? It looks like some iron construction from World War II or something. The nature is best as it is, we people cant improve it.

Agreed. A large part in the decision to create these bridges and artificial plateaus was because people slipped and fell. As Vøringsfossen is easily accessible (nearby parking) and started to attract more people, something had to be done. But I recently visited myself and agree, the bridge is not a pretty sight. Although the view otherwise is breathtaking.

Even if not the very most beautiful brigde, still a masterpiece this. And seemingly Voeringsfossen in its quite natural modus shown on this video. I understand, already several decades ago the waterfall was tamed as a result of power development further east.

What amazing views, although I have mixed feelings. I do like to keep pristine natural wonders in their natural state, especially these days with drones where we can see these natural wonders up close. But I'm not Norwegian so my opinion doesn't matter anyway.

Norway has a ton of places like this totally untouched, making something like this right next to the main road isn't that big of a deal in my opinion. I'm not too fan of the gray design though.

Like it - very minimal - which is the intention? The configuration requires almost not groundworks - just plug into the rock where it "lands" - given spider-like spread which is stable as-is? No person-made structure could blend-in there - so the use of very slender steel is the way to go. Should make the natural attraction much more approachable - get to both sides - plus the elevated view. I've been to Norway, and feel happy about another very Norwegian thing.

This horrible bridge is an offense to nature and good taste as well. I was lucky enough to visit this breathtaking place two years ago, when the view was clear and spectacular. It's already shameful the idea of building a bridge in such a place, for obvious economical exploitation and Disneyland-like tourism... But at least they could have made it nicer! A more harmonious shape/materials and a mimetic colour. That would have been at least (barely) acceptable. I don't even understand why the Norwegian tourism industry needed such a thing in an area already overwhelmed by tourists. Sounds more like a lot of other interests stepped in... Norwegian people should demand the removal of it, a refund from the enterprises and the architect and that money reused in better ways to preserve their beautiful nature...
