I have a 1st model in .32S&W Long, made in 1896. I occasionally carry mine, using Magtech .32S&W Long Semi-Jacketed Hollow Points. Although most likely, with the low velocities of such a caliber (at least when using factory ammunition), the low velocities would likely not be high enough for any expansion, but I like it anyway. Legally it's just easier, as my dumbass anti-gun state requires state permission (e.g. a permit) but doesnt for pre 1899 antiques. This gun is one of many antique double action revolvers that I have, all of which shipped direct to me with no red tape, even in my anti-gun state lol. All of my revolvers are basically pocket sized, and in .32S&W (short), .32S&W Long, .38 S&W, or .38 Long Colt. 2 of which are basically the same as a modern revolver, having solid frames and swing out cylinders. 1 of them is this 1st model S&W Hand Ejector, the other is a Colt 1892 New Army/Navy made in 1894, with an uncommon 3 inch barrel (most have the 6 inch barrels from their military service, whereas mine was a civilian model). The latter revolver, the Colt 1892, even more modern, as it has the same Colt 'pull rearward" latch to swing out the cylinder, like their more modern ones.

I had a stock once like them. The queen was a black bee X buckfast drone. I could do nothing with them. Like you, I made an unsuccessful attempt to dequeen them, but it was impossible to find the queen. They were highly dangerous so, reluctantly, I shut them up and poured a pint of petrol in. I would love to see some of the no-veil brigade go at bees like these!

One of my hives did something very similar this afternoon an hour or so after I inspected it. They didn't swarm, and I doubt it was an orientation flight since I've had them for 2 months. It was about 4 p.m. in the afternoon and beginning to sprinkle. Any ideas as to what this was about?

Im quite sure that it will not be compliant with the deer, I just got off the phone with them and they said that getting shot sucks. LOL so yeah you did some mods on your kit, can you do a more in depth video showing the work done? Like the detent pin holes front and back, and the selector detent. I know the kit has been updated to add more metal in those areas. And on the bolt release, did you drill it and pin it or did you thread it and screw it?

+Harley Craig There is one question I'd like to ask...do you think that they were starting to turn into a AHB hive? Because that's just not like a European honey bee....
@uncleharley17 жыл бұрын
Mr T. Nope, and yes European honeybees can be that aggressive, a few yrs ago a neighbor brought a queen up from TX and they were crazy aggressive he called the state inspector who tapped the side of the box with a tennis ball on a string attached to a pole and had a LB of bees hanging off it. Inspector has spent 6 Mos in Brazil working Africanized bees and said those bees were worse than anything they had encountered. They destroyed the hive and sent samples off for DNA testing.... 100 %European
@mrd.65947 жыл бұрын
Harley Craig 100% European? Dang they killed them even though they were European honeybees? That sucks we've already got a Bee population that's dying off millions at a time...I did something about not long ago about why their dying off so fast...so mite that's getting into the hive and killing them off
@mrd.65947 жыл бұрын
Those might not be the Africanized bees but man are they overly aggressive....great video

So annoying seeing people being lazy and not cleaning off the old comb. You are supposed to clean them and sanitize them.
@uncleharley17 жыл бұрын
Josh D and how would you propose one clean and sanitize frames of honey that have been frozen for feed?
@joshuadelawrence857 жыл бұрын
You don't freeze them. You harvest the honey and store it properly. Then you clean and sanitize your frames. Using comb that was made and especially honey that was made by other bee hives is how disease is spread. You can sit here and act ignorant all you want. The information is there in any book.
@uncleharley17 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't feed someone else's honey for sure but I freeze frames and fees them back to new splits all the time, I'm pretty sure if the parent colony was OK the new colony will be fine to
@joshuadelawrence857 жыл бұрын
No offense or anything but there is not a bee problem. Bee's are not vanishing. there are just as many commercial bees available today as there where in 2006, 1996. The problem is bad bee keeping practices. Bee keepers are losing their bees and they die off and vanish because of pesticides and disease. So if bee keepers start practicing better habits like cleaning and sanitizing their frames and boxes they will make a huge difference. I know because i have a hive. I am setting up a new one today and have never seen anything but wooden packaging. Needed to know how to use this bee bus. But yeah clean your frames.
@uncleharley17 жыл бұрын

Jp and Luis are good peeps I've had the pleasure of meeting them both JP will suit up if they get real aggressive Luis is crazy lol I've seen video of him working Africanized bees with no protection.
