Hey man, awesome video! Really enjoyed this alpine rock style, have you got many other videos like this? Saw some pics on insta of you on the Cheesemond Express, is there a video from that? Stay safe and love from Scotland.

Rope solo is pita up and down up and down pull the rope up and on and on and on sometimes not worth it plus all the gear plus rope ect. Weights a considerable amount is also a factor I'd say it's more a decision of efficiency and time management because the longer you stay on the route the higher your percentage of an accident happening is it's not about appearing awesome at all it's a variety of factors that each individual person must weigh the pros and cons of and make up your own decision my two cents anyways

sometimes, very rarely all the conditions align perfectly and thats when you enter the flow state.

I just realized this video is from 2021, and you're probably a lot better by now, so any advice would probably be redundant at best lol. Either way, good stuff dude! Awesome climb. Saving this to the watch later because I found it while I was eating breakfast before work, but stoked to see how the rest of this goes.

You just kick too much both with your campons and piolets. Hook up more when you can. It' will save you energy.

Great job pushing on......I remember how much I struggled on "Wicked Wanda" back in the early 90s - I found it harder than "Polar Circus" . Though it was a super cold day in January with lots of aerated fracturing chandelier ice..... great videos guys - bring back many great memories.

I think cold feet are also a result of over tightening your boots, maybe go 1/2 step in number and put 2 layer of socks, a second layer of wool .

You can like climbing but not like 'outdoor activies' like hikes and stuff, it's different. For us me and my grilfriend we know we are more indoor climbers, we climb 2-3 times/week inside but rarely outdoor, sometimes on easy top rope setup but we dont fool ourself we are not the outdoor type. Like probably your buddy would enjoy a day with an organised group where you can ice climb top rope 5 mins from the parking, I know we would lol. But when you spend half the day hiking it's not the same game.

Thank you so much guys, for letting us see the unspeakable rewards of this climb! Having spent many years scrambling the Rockies around Rundle, I noticed Assiniboine as the very first peak I saw from Rundle that transfixed my interest. I always wondered what it would be like to climb that, but every time I looked at it, it looked like it would be a borderline experience for my capabilities, as I've never technical climbed. But this video shot is a virtual for me, and I'm so grateful to have been there with you in spirit!🙏

What and how much do you eat on and before iceclimbs? Or do you just drink sweet tea? What about avalanche safety equipment?

How times have changed.. Did a bunch of Rockies Ice out of Canmore in the 90's and the chance of running into any other parties on Climbs like these would have been so rare.

Are those dishwashing gloves. We tried that in 98 over at Lake Willoughby . We decide against it and bring more than one set of climbing gloves. I want to give it another consideration after this video. Good climbing. I reconsider use v threads as a sole source of an anchor. Had a friend pull out one in the past. I know. Hundreds of good ones. Sometimes the bad is not so easily identified.

I usually don’t comment videos but this time I felt compelled to. Sincerely, the worst belay technique I ever seen in almost 4 decades of climbing. Boisterous and laughing at climbing partners having a hard time. Top ridiculous video, definitely more attitude than skill.

If you cannot trust yourself in the vertical dance then don't go up otherwise don't be so nasty with solo climbers we have different reasons for doing so as you might have different reasons ti not trust yourself 40 yrs as a climber I've had my close calls but I'm still alive because I trust myself
