Genuinely think David's reaction to when River tells the Doctor his name is the best acting he did in the role. He hits an emotion he never shows anywhere else in his performance. He had that range locked in there and didn't use till it was relevant. That's amazing imo.

I love how the Doctor is so taken aback by what River says, that he has to muster up his voice first, before responding

the fact that he doesn't seem angry and yet river knows him enough to know that he's angry shows how close they are. despite having a different face, river knows the doctor.

The Doctor and River Song love story started off so strong in this two-parter, but I was disappointed in where they took her character. Her entire arc in season 6 was so incredibly silly and over the top to me that I could never buy it. It's shame, because I absolutely love Silence in the Library, and I think Tennant and Kingston had great chemistry.

Amazing that they planned things out so well. Or at least made it seem like they did! Also just the poetry of it. The first time he meets her is the last time she sees hims.

My slow azz is still trying yo figure out when he told River his name unless that wasnt it, because they both lie for time travel reasons.

River and Tenth Doctor have met while River's only on-screen interactions with Tenth Doctor but she did meet him again in a handful of Big Finish Productions audio plays. Both adventure together in three stories in the anthology The Tenth Doctor and River Song. River also encounters Ten in the audio plays A Brave New World and The First Son plus the 2022 video game Lost in Time. The latter actually takes place before "Silence in the Library," but River erases the Doctor's memory of her to maintain the timeline. But i like to think when she says "You're young.. your eyes your younger than I've seen you" she confused Tenth Doctor with the Fourthteen Doctor since both share the same face meaning River could return and meet the Fourthteen Doctor.

But when did she find out his name. If Matt smith didn’t really say it. And was on about the teselecta. When did she find out. Or was it still said in that episode but alternate realities because time went wrong?

River's story has got to be the best mystery the show ever had.

This was one the BEST story lines Dr Who ever did. It was fascinating, intriguing, and completely unavoidable if you were any kind of fan. It opened up the Doctor's personality on a fundamental level, vulnerable and irresistible in for THE Timelord himself. This was when the writing for Dr Who was incredible before the fuckwit Chinballs got his hands on it! I can only have faith in RTD to bring it back YET AGAIN.... I so hope it works out

Honestly pretty crazy that Tennant only got one episode (or two parter) with River but in my opinion did the best job playing off of the character and the chills he gets when River tells him his name... I love Tennant so much.

I’m 41 years old and I still want to be River Song when I grow up.

Now that Tenth is the Fourteenth Doctor, Tennant can finally play the emotion of knowing River Song. I really hope to see more Tennant's Doctor and River Song, since technically River Song is not dead.
