I've seen him performing live and compared to the other f-16s performances that day this pilot really knows the limits. I've only seen stuff like this in sim.

Why does a tail dragger have to lift the tail to take off? Is rear wheel touching an excessive angle of attack?

Lifting the tail reduces rolling drag and sets up the angle of attack of the wing for takeoff (google)
