He was my Academy brother, Great standup person. Always used to bump into him in brooklyn gyms or cruisinig in the viper. 2021 was the last time i saw him in the viper he was gracious to stop and chat despite having a lovely lady riding shot gun top down. I was gonna commission him to be my trainer months later. I learned on my social media what had happened, to him while on vacation in attempt to contact him. I was devestated. Rest in Peace Big O. Proud to have known you, and graced by his friendship

Well it's kinda true,,, women can handle more volume but because that volume produces less fatigue, because they lift less than men,,, and that thing about their nervous system always leaves more in the tank. As always, volume, intensity, frequency of training cannot be seen separately from one another

I really enjoyed this -- could have been a discussion between me and my own trainer. I started working with him just a year ago and fate willing, will continue for years to come. I love lifting and feeling strong and capable.

I've always liked Ed's "open the groin" cue as an alternative to "knees out." It's a bit more subtle, in execution I think you're feeling tension in your adductors which happens as a result of getting your legs out. So similar logic of abduction/external rotation at the hips as you descend, but a different way of your brain thinking about the problem.

Mike’s Dad, AJ, was a friend and co-worker back in the day. Mike’s younger brother Nick was playing football at Virginia in the time Mike was rushing up thru the ranks in the Strongman world. AJ and Debbie would each go to EVERY football game or Strongman contest for both of their boys. . If the events coincided, one would go to one, and the other spouse another. They were DEVASTATED when Mike passed on Thanksgiving 2013, as any devoted parent would be. I have never met a more devoted Dad in my life. We worked as county building inspectors (he trained me), and we got off at 3:30 each day. He would go to Good Counsel and watch their practices every single day. I still use him as my yardstick when judging my parenting skills. He gave them zero room to fail at life. I admire that family. RIP, Michael.

Yes! So important. Every body is built different. Some foods really give you that energy you need to go lifting and others just make you feel trash. Potatoes work great for me

Back really hurts when I decompress my spine after squatting. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

Hey Coach Gaglione, I’ve seen your work with Larry Wheels and elsewhere, I’m wondering if you’re still coaching people because I really hope to become a great power lifter someday. I wanna follow in Larry Wheels footsteps and I am 16 years old and I bench 315, squat 350 for 2, and deadlift 455. I’ve been working out for a year and a half and I’m wondering when I’m around 18 if I could be trained by you somehow. Thank you, Charles Geraghty

Was literally trying to figure out how to do a banded deadlift at home that the current program I’m following wants me to do. I was about to purchase something, figure out some trickery, or skip it and then this is so simple and obvious that it made me feel stupid. 😂

How often? I’m trying to find someone to tell me I can do them before every squat day of mine, because 315lbs just will not stop feeling heavy. Sometimes I have it for 6 reps, sometimes it’s just sloppy and I have it for 3. But I keep hearing that it’ll fatigue your CNS too quickly if you do that. But how? It’s just a damn walkout
