Slam here too. I fish the southern end of PI. I waited for that fog to burn off. Picked up two trout before finding the snook, got two of them then the red joined the party. Added several more snook after lunch, lost a big one. Going to be tough this weekend with the cold coming down.

Putting a Power pole on my flats boat was a game changer. As keeping the boat in one place and making several casts can really pay off in certain spots. Also helps when tying knots or any other time you doing something other then casting while the wind or tide is pushing you in an undesired direction.

@@johnmoore3504 yeah I have a push-pole that I use as an anchor steakout pole and a small anchor that I can throw out but it would be nice to be able to just hit a button and stop and stay focused on the fish or whatever I'm trying to. 💪 Thanks for watching! 💪🎣🚣♂️🤙

Going to be even colder Monday and Tuesday. The snook bite is going to get tough. Love that clear water but it does make for some spooky fish. I just closed on a house in Cape Coral so my boat will be over there all the time now.

Congrats! You never forget your first. Mine came while shore fishing a spillway using a Rat-L-Trap. A father and his son were fishing the same spot catching a few bass when I hooked up. I think the kid was more excited than me, he had no idea fish got so big since a 20# baby tarpon is a monster compared to a 2# bass. Crazy part was the week before I paid a guide in the Keyes to put me on tarpon but we struck out. I told a co-worker this sad story and he suggested I give the old spillway a try. Then I managed another “first” getting a tarpon on my own boat while night fishing down in Miami. I remember my first red down in Flamingo. After searching for what felt like forever over multiple trips we found them in muddy potholes and caught 6 with ease. That opened the floor gates and I caught many reds on multiple trips since. Turns out you just got to get that one to break the ice and boost your confidence.

@@johnmoore3504 it was crazy because I had just slammed and then catching this tarp and gave me my first ever Grand slam! Went out the next weekend in Grand Slam again with a smaller tarpon!

I'm trying to get with waste management to see if they can get something out to retrieve their 4YRD dumpster out of the mangroves and leave some roll-off dumpsters so people can collect trash and debris and put in there.... @@johnmoore3504 I normally fish in the Matlacha pass. And it's been hit or miss out there. You got to find where there's flow you'll find cleaner water. Last year I jumped two tarpon and this year I've jumped 12 and lost each one.. This one was coming in! Thanks for watching! 🎣🚣♂️🤙🏻
