I might need my ford escape 2011 repaired. Like a dumb ass I accidentally hit vent in winter time when it was frozen. It’s not closing and seating all the way now. Where you can hear lots more wind draft. motor works fine and goes through progression of vent and close properly. But when I hit close. It won’t seal. I have to manually push upwards on glass and then it seals into place with less draft. Wondering if it’s something broke in there. Any ideas?
@jaykay1820 сағат бұрын
I'm wondering if it's just ice underneath it. On an 81 Chevy I once had that happen with the driver's door. Besides it being frozen, and my having to force it open from the inside, it would not close. I had to hold the door shut while I drove for a few miles with the heat on high. That was a fun trip, but I was 17 and invincible then.

I’m confused how the side panel came off. I have a different model and I unscrewed the screws at the bottom, but it is still attached at the top. It looks like there is a screw inside the top that I can’t access. It looks like yours had one too but it wasn’t screwed in?
@jaykay1821 сағат бұрын
Very hard for me to tell you what to do when it's a different model. If it were the same, we're comparing apples to apples. This one, if I recall, had a wound plastic plug in the handle, after that was popped, there was a larger flat blade screw. Otherwise, keep trying. It went together somehow, so it has to be able to come apart.

That's a lot of gifts & cool junk for the hoard! That clamshell DVD player looks a lot like a giant DS Fat. What's the brand for the DVD products? Why, the DVD brand, of course! I like the mouse! The PL bulb's form factor looks as if they're two mini sabers in one when it's being handheld. My thoughts on the light bulb video; is this a video you feel is nessecary to make in the first place and how big of importance does it hold to you? I'm rather indifferent on the topic if you ask me. As for how you'll present the bulbs, I would say, try and get a little creative with the process. One idea would be to lay out all the bulbs you own on a floor or counter, and do a long video walkthrough of the bulbs. Picture an ultimate lightbulb tour/walkthrough video. Depending on how much time you want to put into this, you could even test them either side-side or one by one. Additionally, if you test all of them, keep a record of which one is the most bright and least bright and showcase them at the end of that walkthrough. Do whatever you want.
@jaykay1821 сағат бұрын
Always remember, it's not hoarding if your stuff is cool! Yeah that's quite the DVD player, having no brand. Makes you wonder how _compatible_ it must be! The mouse actually isn't bad, only problem I foresee is that with use, the silver paint will wear off. Otherwise the mouse will work fine. No PS/2 port, no problem, there are USB to PS/2 adapters out there and just about any of them will run it. The little adapter things you see, one of which was included, is only for meeces that support the USB protocol. They were available in a number of different flavors over the years, USB to PS/2 and PS/2 to USB. In the dinosaur days where I'm from, meeces hooked up Serial (RS-232) or PS/2, and you found PS/2 to Serial and Serial to PS/2. Long of the story is you can pretty much make any meeces work from any time period, at least under Windows, provided you have the appropriate adapter. You know, KZbin's got AI for video ideas now. It's awful! I like your ideas better. I still think a few per video would be good. I'll read off the labels, power it up, if it needs to warm up, I'll let it. I'm not much into dimming it, as the only bulbs that will be truly dimmable are incandescent, and with that, you will get exactly what you expect. If you dim anything else, you will simply get unexpected results.

Nice video. I would like to add my own experience with this. I bought it to remove standing water from the catch tub under a water heater I was refurbishing. After just a few strokes, this pump was dead and not moving water. The problem was that this water was contaminated with dust and pet hair, and the two check valves inside the pump were now jammed open. Rather than toss the new pump, I decided to clean it out - what harm could I do, the pump was already dead. I started by removing the two plastic seal rings at the ends of the pump, at the big edge of the vinyl fittings. I then (carefully) cut from the large bottom of each vinyl end-fitting to the point where it starts to taper inward, which then allowed me to work these end caps off. Pulling each end off, found that the exit port had a check valve that was fouled, and thus was cleaned under running water with a toothpick. The inlet-end cap assembly was removed to access the shaft piston, which has another check valve that was also fouled open. After cleaning and applying silicone grease lube to the bore, I reassembled using two appropriately sized worm-drive hose clamps on each end - discard the two vinyl sealing rings. This now allows me to clean the pump from debris but also to use it between different fluids, like gas and water, without cross-contaminating either. Good luck.

Wow that's a lot of gifts! Yeah Liz was subscribed to me since.....I'm gonna say 2010 or 2011. I lean towards the latter because I think he first commented on the first video I did of the 2010 Whirlpool, so it's been a nice long while! I would so be curious to see how the newer direct drive sounds with the older pump, but I know as long as what's working is working, the newer one remain in place. How long I gotta wait!?
@jaykay18Күн бұрын
That could very well be. It's been a long while indeed! I guess we'll have to see which pump fails first. If the new machine does, I can put the old one on it. Or I can put a new one on the old machine. I wish I knew what causes the different sounds, the newer ones appear to be about the same, save maybe for the thickness of the plastic housing.

Yeah I didn't remember which video I first commented on, but that 2010 video sounds about right since I found that video while I was in CA with my mother during my parents' separation. That was in either April or May 2011, and that's actually when I first made the video on that 97 GE washer my late grandmother had. But I didn't end up posting that video until WAY later in November that year for whatever reason. But I think the first video I ever found from you was your 1990 videos, and I remember I was amazed at how similar the agitation sounded between yours and ours! Ahh, to be a kid in wonder again. @@lizboz See, that was back in the old days of KZbin when the algorithm actually suggested videos you wanted to watch and were related to what you just watched. Nowadays, recommended videos first go to the highest bidder, second to the next highest, etc. Once it gets far enough down the list, there might be something you're vaguely interested in. It also is sort of what brought us together, if you will, having similar interests like that. Funny how you say "a kid in wonder". That happened to me, once, starting back in 1985 when we got our first computer. I always wondered why the program you can just put the disk in and turn the computer on and it would just work, as opposed to other ones where you had to first boot DOS, swap disks, then issue the command to runt he program. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you want to look at it, that steered my entire life in the direction it went, me becoming a computer dick. So "a kid in wonder" is actually a very powerful thing.

Yes! Also remember when people could actually post related videos in the comments? I think it was something like a "video response" comment. I think by the time the "cosmic panda" layout for KZbin took over in 2012, that was done away with. Indeed it is a powerful thing. There's lots of stuff I can remember I was ecstatic about when I discovered how it worked. Somehow my mother was actually the first one to figure out that the lidswitch for the newer direct drives was underneath the lid rather than just a hole on top like back then. When she showed me that, my jaw about hit the floor, and I was stoked that we could actually run our machine with the lid open. Before, I had to just peek in through the gap of the lid, hopefully without stopping it to even catch a glimpse of what was going on. Of course it all went downhill from there.

I always edit my videos with a headset, as the audio is more important than the video itself, so that way I can hear every last thing. When you're trying to line things up frame by frame with the audio and there is any latency involved, that all goes out the window. Over a 3.5mm connection, on the other hand, it's perfect.

The reason the t-shirt was wrapped so well is I hate having leftover pieces of paper that have to be saved in case someone has something small to wrap. I probably could have wrapped two shirts in that much paper but I only had one shirt so when I cut off a piece I used all of it. It also makes the fun last longer. My uncle used to wrap a small gift and label it to person A, then he'd put it in a bigger box labeled to person B etc. etc. until the actual gift was about six boxes deep. The first person would think they were getting something big only to find they got a gift for someone else. By the time it got passed around the last person who the gift was actually for would end up with a tube of Chap Stick or some other worthless thing. You want to talk about a waste of paper!

Does the charging with the USB cord work off the in-home charging units AC to USB adaptor or off the car DC battery only?
@jaykay183 күн бұрын
There are 2 cables supplied with the unit. The cord with the cigarette lighter plug that plugs into the car does not charge the unit, but will run it even with a dead battery in the inflator. To charge the inflator's battery, you must use the USB cable. Where you get power from for that USB cable doesn't matter, so if you have a house charger and plug it into that it will work, or a USB port in your car, that will also charge it.

There was a fire a few blocks from my old house many years ago. What had happened was they were heating a pot of oil on the stove to deep fry something and they overheated it to the point it caught fire. They tried to pick up the pot and take it outside but they bruned themself on the pot and dropped it causing the burning oil to go everywhere and the house ended up burning to the ground. The only thing left was a shed in the backyard. Eventually the high class citizens of the neighborhood broke the lock off the shed and stole everything out of it. A few years after that they stole the shed too. Its still an empty lot probably 15-20 years later.

Hopefully not much damage, scary stuff. Back in 2023 my garage was close to catching on fire here due to my own stupid ideas put in to action. The gas can was close by too, so I could have caught on fire too. Those lights look like laser light beams, no wonder why led causes eye pain.
@jaykay184 күн бұрын
I once place my gas can precariously and it fell over upside-down. Dumped about a gallon of gas on the garage floor.The garage and the rest of the house stunk like gas for a week, but it has since all dissipated and all is well. No damage occurred. The power was left on at this house so it really was minor. Still, it's a huge upset. They probably couldn't sleep there that night, just guessing on that. The lights were painful to look at in real life. But at least they were all being run on pure DC voltage so they didn't flicker. I've said many times, they got LEDs right for the cars, and it's all because it's got pure DC.
@240Volts3 күн бұрын
@@jaykay18 My thoughts on another comment here. I rarely see the reason mentioned if it ever does hit the news. They may or may not flicker on DC, but the lights on emergency vehicles are the worst and cause blindness for longer periods of time. Like I said, these leds have to be lasers, that is why the gruberment won't regulate leds. They also hide behind climate scam and carbon emissions and social whatever costs.

Aw man, not again! Well if it's minor, it is safe to say it wasn't a tree this time. Maybe their alarm system is connected to notify the fire department, or someone made the call. How did you notice the smoke scent? Did it come through the boiler exhaust again? Though I noticed you said in the air, so maybe you went outside for something. Amazingly I can't recall ONE instance of me being home alone, and the door bell ringing while I am cooking. But yeah, frying stuff? CANNOT take chances like that. I think i told you before, if I am using a pan of oil to fry stuff? I always keep the lid right nearby because even though unlikely, if the oil ignites, burner off and lid on. All will be well.
@jaykay184 күн бұрын
Yeah, really! Ancient Pagan rituals of bringing a tree inside while you go put the heat on to dry it out, lace it with cheap wiring, then get drunk and light candles. That was Gallagher's impression of Christmas from a fire prevention point of view. No scent of it till I was outside. Last time I had the windows open and the fart sniffer in the air purifier noticed it right away, it was glowing red and angry and running a mile a minute. I had people over all the time back in the day and when the doorbell rang, the electric skillet that I still use today was turned OFF before I left the room. I would open the door, invite them in, and come right back to the kitchen and turn it right back on. No chance I'm going to leave it for a minute while this one goes to the bathroom and that one hangs their coat up. Dinner will be just fine. I did once, and you were here, have the turkley ignite on Thanksgivmas in March. "Close the door and turn it off" was the best advise indeed. Fixed it all up and was able to continue cooking till catpletion. This year I was going to use the tisserie, but I ended up getting just a turkley breast. It fit the halogen oven so I used that instead of the jumbo tisserie. That thing had to cook for about 2:15 or so, and it did it like champ. Longest I ever cooked with it. I was faking infomercial camera shots when I carved this, and it was real. You know what this is, and have had it. Yeah, it's actually possible to cook an absolute feast for your guests, forgetting even the sides. That poor bird was devoured and only made a couple sandwiches after.

This happened across from the street from work one day this spring. Someone was cooking and got distracted by something else. 15 minutes later, the fire department rolls in. I could see some smoke coming from the windows from my office, they were out of that house for about a month while the damage recovery occurred. They were fortunate it wasn’t any worse, but it always hits close to home because it can always could’ve been yourself or someone you’re close to.

KZbin recommendations are weird... Anyways As a basic entry point, just maybe. It would serve as a way to see if they're even interested in making things work. Main issues I see with this is that the electronics are very limited in what you could actually do with them and while that part may be 8 to 12 the plastics look like they're for 6 and under. The way I got introduced to electronics was with Meccano and that just had so many more things going on. The electronic bit was just a motor powered by a 2 AA battery pack. The thing is that it also included various gear types. There were just more things that the set showed you how to do and even more that you could come up with yourself. Kid imagination can go pretty wild and having to constantly explain that they don't have the parts to make something basic like a car that can just go forward that they put together themselves would be rather disheartening.
@jaykay184 күн бұрын
Mmm...depends on the set. This will "get your feet wet" so to speak. I learned at a very young age what was what, probably around age 6, positive and negative, all that kind of stuff. I still have the wire stripper I was given, and still use that same stripper 40 years later, it's a tool I'll have for life. For light bulbs, I had leftover 1960s IBM equipment that helped us get to the moon, for motors it was out of whatever toy that broke, and for bells I had 48V telephone bells, that was it. I had to learn by trial and error, which, in my opinion, is one of the best ways to learn.

For one to take 9 discs, the machine would have to be considerably larger than a normal piece of stereo equipment. According to Father Google: _"In Jewish tradition, mourners at a funeral do not hand the shovel directly to the next person because it is considered symbolic of passing on sadness and grief, signifying a reluctance to "give over" the responsibility of participating in the burial process; instead, they typically place the shovel back in the mound of dirt for the next person to take, showing a shared sense of solemnity and respect for the deceased."_ Uh, yeah, but not really. That's why like I said, a lot of religion is made up campfire stories, passed down from caveman to caveman. Here we are present day. I have seen notes along those lines on their fridge over the years. This was another one of them. I could totally see my Aunt Mary writing that note, she always has a little something to do. And while Leo was in the hospital and then hospice since April, it really doesn't matter if she wrote it before he died or not, the fact of the matter is, he wasn't going to be coming home ever again. I could totally see it being written after he died. Just seems right and on par with other notes I have seen over the years. She did put it in the right place for him to see it, on the fridge, as he was always overweight!

@@jaykay18 I mean, she couldn't just give Leo the note directly if it was something that wanted to be heard? I don't see the point otherwise, but ok. As for the shovel, that reminded me of the segment in George Carlin's It's Bad For Ya where he rants about the raising your left hand over your right hand to swear on the Bible. "Sorry wrong hand try again!" I think the CD carousel holds 6 CDs.

@@saturnevan Like I said, I think the note was written after his death. I know the Carlin bit well! 6 CD was possible indeed.

@@jaykay18It seems odd to me to say "He didn't see the note" when it was written after the fact. That would almost be like opening up an old wound to only to feel the pain. That is all.

@@saturnevan I know exactly what you mean. But the idea is "he would see it from up above" if you believe in that. Like I said, I can't prove or disprove it and it's a one-sided deal where there's no guarantee. My gut feeling is once you're dead, you're dead, and that's the end. You can have dreams while alive, and sometimes they are absolutely wild and none of it ever happened or ever could happen. We've all been there. But you have to be alive to remember it.

It has the "Zeh Blutuuuth devaiiice has biiiin connected sucksassfullay"-voice 😂

Yep, depends on which Bluetooth chip they use. Some have that voice, others just have tones, some have more American-sounding voices, there's a bunch I have encountered over the years.

You’re not alone. I don’t have extra money for the professionals so I’ve learned to DIY!

One thing I've learned about the professionals is they are far from it. These days, a professional is someone who has done it once before. It takes year of practice, to the point where it can practically be done with the eyes closed, to truly be a professional. So I don't like wasting money on them. If expensive, specialized tools are involved, it's an absolutely huge job, too dangerous to perform, or other things of that nature, then the pros get called in. Usually, their work is sub-par, so it's best to do anything and everything you can yourself. For me, I can tell you that I am my own toughest customer, so the job's not done until _I_ am satisfied.
