Great video, I'd always heard the legends about him being one of the most broken fighting game characters but this is worse than I even imagined lol. Like was he playtested at all?

Ivan Ooze was designed as a boss character, so it made sense to design him with all these broken abilities. Then the designers went, "hey, wouldn't it be cool if we added a way to make him playable? that'd be a fun thing to let our players discover", and so they did. You can only play as Ivan Ooze after beating Story Mode on Hard and then inputting a code. And I guess they decided not to tone him down, most likely because it would be extra work for something a lot of players might not ever see, and they figured if a player had managed to get far enough to use him, they deserved the right to use him at full power.

Ivan Ooze probably is THE most broken fighting game character of all time. I reckon that can never be disputed... However. As a boss character, some degree of OP'dness can always be expected. BUT. There is a character who is part of the regular roster of Rise 2 Resurrection called Necroborg who has a lightning projectile move which has invincible frames. Hits full screen, and can be spammed constantly by just holding back and hammering away on the punch button. Truly a 10-0 win against every other character in the roster. No single character has a tool for countering this.

I think the idea was just that he was meant to be a boss character. Based on the way he works (very few attacks, unusual mechanics), it's pretty evident he wasn't meant to be playable through normal means, and the designers threw in a cheat code that made him playable just in case players might want to mess around with him. Of course, most of the time when designers do that, they tone down the character at least a little; even Super Turbo Akuma isn't as insane as his boss version. Ivan looks like a case where they shrugged and just made the boss version playable as-is.

for a while i thought DARK MAN might be secret top tier bc his upkicks are an infinite in themselves, but he gets screwed over by the jank controls lol the command interpreter seems to get screwed up by him switching sides during the combo, so eventually you'll get a random move instead of the upkicks =(

Try switching the strength of the button you use when doing the next upkick. That's what makes Deliza's infinite consistent for some reason.

Isn't it quicker in 1-2 to just use the ceiling at the start? Seems like you spend quite some time avoiding enemies. Can check out my run where I routed it quite extensively, but I suck at the game so I'm still 5th now :P Nice job though!
