I went on a binge of watching day in the life videos because I’m also a type 1 diabetic and ran across your video. Feel free to not answer this but are you in East Tennessee? I swear that looks like the same office I go to >.<

Glad the O5 is great for you. I left Medtronic for Tandem T:slim and never looked back. I’m stuck that you did not get your 1st choice pump because the nurse did not put in the prescription? I bet you were far too nice about it.

I hope it works for you! Thanks for thre great video. Brings tears to my eyes, since I know what you are going through… I’ve been type 1 for 52 years. Looking to star the Omnipod myself, that’s why I’m here. I hope you do follow up vids! I just tried the Medtronic 780G but did not keep it. It really didn’t work that great for me. Not a fan of having a pump hanging on my side with tubing either so I’m looking at the Omnipod. I hope you are well! Enjoy how well you speak too.👍

How does Omnipod 5 help uncontrolled blood sugar during periods?

When I commented to you in here previously as you can see I was curious since having been an optician that diabetes can effect people's eyesight. I heard you say in your video that your glasses were your blue light blocking glasses. But you can also have glasses with prescription lenses as well as blue light blocking. As it turned out these glasses were only blue light blocking and weren't prescription glasses. However apparently not too much later you were actually prescribed with glasses. You apparently thought it would be a good idea to get your eyes checked before starting to drive. And before you were actually going to be driving you first were required to take and pass a written test and pass a vision test. Interestingly in an earlier eye exam you must not have had perfect vision, just not enough to require glasses for' You were told they would write you some type of note to take to the DMV assuming you failed the vision test. But it was a much better idea to get your eyes checked one more time and this time you were prescribed glasses. Many young ladies even half as attractive as you would have been upset being told they needed glasses. But you were actually wanting glasses so you were probably quite excited to be something you were wanting anyway. I guess your wanting glasses explains why you were wearing your blue light blocking glasses in this video when you weren't really doing anything involving anything with a screen. You were really wearing them simply because you wanted. So that had to be a huge help when you got your prescription glasses because you were already used to wearing your blue light glasses quite a bit. And your prescription had to be rather weak so your eyes probably adjusted to the prescription in less than a day. I have a feeling wearing your glasses all the time was your decision and you weren't told you needed to wear them fulltime were you? Wearing your glasses fulltime isn't doing any harm to your eyes, but by wearing them all the time you have probably made yourself a bit dependent on your glasses and you now feel you need them in order to see clearly now. I can see why you like wearing glasses. Your already really cute and you look even cuter wearing glasses. When you wear glasses, they naturally draw attention to your eyes and you have really pretty eyes under your glasses.

The Medtronic has been a literal nightmare I’ve had DKA 4 times in less than a year including seizures, coma and my blood panels are still affected from the last DKA like white n red blood 🩸 cells are extremely high n extremely low it’s getting a lil better but I was curious if you’ve experienced this “, the blood panels ?”?

I'm 75 years old, well actually I will be on July 6th, I have type 1 diabetes and I see my Endocrinologist once a year and just saw him three weeks ago. My blood sugar was at 120 and my A1C was 6.2. I take one medication called "Pioglitazone" 15MG once a day. This has been my normal rate now for at least the last 8 -10 years and maybe even longer. The doctor was, as usual, very happy with me and i won't see him again until May 29th 2024. i last had my eyes examined in September of 2022. Last week i got a call from my primary doctor's office. It was the nurse calling and talking about some test that will need to be done when I see the primary on Sept 5th this year. I said that was fine. But them she started pushing me to get my eyes examined and pointing out hat it's needs to be done once a year. Okay, I get it but the last time I went for my eye exam I did so because I noticed a slight change in my vision. It turned out that I had a build up on the lens they put in when I had cataract surgery back in 2017. They doctor did say i had the early signs of macular degeneration. He then suggested I start taking some type of an eye vitamin for it which they just happen to sell their. I ended up paying $320.00 for a 3 month supply of those eye vitamins. I then went to where I had the cataract surgery done and they used the laser once again to clean off that buildup and this was done by an ophthalmologists. So i asked him about the need for eye vitamins and he seemed surprised when I said that the optometrist I saw for my eye exam said i had the early sign of macular degeneration. In other words I don't think he saw any indication of that at all. And when i asked him about eye vitamins he asked me if I already take any vitamins? Now remember I had already provided them with the list of all of my medications including vitamins to them. So he had to already know i was taking a couple vitamins. He told be that the vitamins I was already taking would be just fine. Surprisingly him or the optometrist eve suggested I needed to come back for a follow up eye exam. In fact the optometrist even said that once I had the build up taken off my eyesight would be back to normal once again, which it was and still is,. My distance vision is 20/15 and I don't even need reading glasses. But I'm not happy that my primary doctor seems to want to get involved in things my other doctors are treating me for. I commented to you when you got your first glasses a couple years ago. You were actually wanting glasses so you were quite excited about getting glasses. I was surprised that you weren't prescribed glasses when you were about to be going go your driver's learners permit. And instead of prescribing yo with glasses they were going to write a letter to take with you to the DMV in case you failed the vision test. They should have fitted you with glasses and maybe suggested that you should first try passing the vision test without glasses. If you failed the test then you could have put your glasses on to pas the test. I assume they must have felt that your eyesight was on the boarder line of you being able to pass it without glasses. They didn't know you were actually wanting glasses and would have been perfectly fine taking the vision test wearing glasses. They probably thought you wouldn't have been happy being told that you needed to start wearing glasses. When you got your glasses were you told you needed to wear them all the time or was that your own decision to wear your glasses fulltime? As a retired optician I can see that you have astigmatism correction in your glasses but I can't tell if you also are a little nearsighted or farsighted as well. Since you need yearly eye exams I saw that you got new glasses several months ago. I liked your first glasses, but I honestly like your new glasses on you even more with a nice thin metal frame which really allows your face to be seen so much better than your first plastic framed glasses. I'm assuming you may have gotten an increase in your new glasses as well. Was it enough of an increase for you to notice? I see you no longer have braces which I bet your happy about. Are you still happy about wearing glasses? Something tells me you are. Your looking very good and I hope your doing as well as you look to be. Have a great day.

Nate says his favorite character is Podo. (we are in book 2 and JUST met Sarah Cobbler) The whole reason we started the series was because of you and Kelsy. I had seen book 1 but was thinking it wasn't a book for us. Then I saw you post a pic of I think getting book 4. So when book 1 was on a BOGO sale in audible I thought to check it out. I was HOOKED before we even got to chapter 1 and then promptly bought the entire series and bought book 1 for a friend's birthday.

I am 50 years old. I have had diabetes for 45 years, 46 actually. Seeing you and your mum in the car reminded me of how much I miss my mum. I lost her nine months ago and she was my rock. My oxygen my sugar levels are weigh out of control at the moment because of emotions I still haven’t gotten over her. Maybe it’s time to change from pins to something like you are showing me there. God bless you Mum it looks like she is your rock.. I tryed pumping about 10 years ago, and it looks like allots changed, I could never get it right I don’t think they ever figured out my Basel rate properly. Maybe it’s time to give it another go and get it off the pens.😊

If you are looking for a space (I un- recommend Mars One...I forgot about some side character moments that mad it blah) Another space book series that Cameron and I loved was Skyward by Brandon Sanderson. It has a made-up bad word in it And other space book that is very kid friendly is Zero G by Dan Wells. I loved this book and the two sequels. But it is definitely middle school. Another fantasy book series that was clean was the Dream Kings. The first book is House of Dark Shadow by Robert Liparulo. It seemed kind of ominous especially at the beginning but once you figure out what's going on...and it is about a family working together not the kids have to save us all because the parents are too stupid or clueless I could go on but for now I will stop. 😊

Love Chronicles of Narnia!! The horse and his boy and the final battle are my favorite. The lightening thief series is really good but i wouldn't recommend you read past the series because the author puts some bad things in them. I would recommend books by Catherine Gruber Smith, Donita K. Paul and Melanie Cellier. All 3 r Christian authors and it shows in their books. There are other books I would recommend but this comment is already too long. 😂

I've been on both Tandem TSlimX2 (my first pump) and am now, as of June 2022, on the Omnipod 5. Been type 1 since 1988, but only started using a pump in 2018. Anyway, both are great pumps, but I'm liking the Omnipod because I tend to toss and turn a lot in my sleep and, also, just got a puppy late last year and she chews on anything and everything that looks like a cord or wire.

22% time in range!!!!!! I HOPE the Omnipod 5 helps you a lot. I was on the Medtronic 670G, which is a hybrid closed loop system. I thought it was terrible. However, it did help me a LOT with controlling blood sugars. Now on the Tslim, which is better. But still has problems, probably caused mainly by me. Wishing you a lot better control of your blood sugars and improvement in your health. Lower A1c in the future.

So just so you know, it's now been another 4 months since you posted this video. You seem very happy and you look very heathy but I'm sorry to hear you have another health issue to deal with. You don't need anything any other health issues in your life I'm sure. Anyway I'm the retired optician that posted comments on two other videos you did. . So as former optician my first question to you is how is your eyesight doing? You got glasses, that you had been wanting for some time, in March of 2021 and it's now March 11 2022. So nearly a year ago. So I'm assuming you will be, if you haven't already, going for your yearly eye exam. When you got your glasses you went straight to fulltime wear. When you got them your pediatric eye doctor didn't think you needed glasses and was even going to write a note so you could get your drivers license without needing or wearing glasses. So Have you since gotten your driver's license and do you think you would be able to see to drive without glasses if you hadn't gotten them from your other doctor? I think i know the answer, but let you answer. Do you feel like there has been no change in your eyesight since getting your glasses that you aren't going to need new glasses or do you think your glasses may need to be a bit stronger. You're actually farsighted with astigmatisms from what i can see peeking through your right lens. How is your distance vision without glasses? Near perfect or rather blurry? Anyway I wish you nothing but happiness and of course good health. Please take care and stay safe. Have a wonderful St Patrick's day also. If you wish to contact me I can be reached by e-mail at [email protected]

Well you just answered a question I just asked you on another video where you were wearing glasses. In that video you said you were wearing blue light blocking glasses and because you are diabetic i wondered since eyesight is often effected by diabetes if your glasses were also prescription. Now I know they weren't. but now the are. As a retired optician I wonder why your pediatric eye doctor didn't write you a prescription for glasses when he saw your chart. Especially knowing you were planning on going for your learners permit which requires a vision check. He even seemed to know you would likely fail the vision test and he was then going to write you a pass so you would be able to get your permit. But you certainly shouldn't want to be driving if your eyesight wasn't considered as being good enough without glasses and remember they don't even require that you have perfect vision just 20/40 or better. I'm glad your other eye doctor had more sense and told you right way that she was going to have you get glasses. If you thought you were needing glasses for a while you almost certainly were. You had to be even happier since you were wanting glasses anyway. And the braces just adds to your cuteness and I guess it is kind of nerdy to have glasses and braces. But your glasses are very much in fashion and they frame your beautiful blue eyes very well. So When you looked close into your camera so we could get a good look at your glasses i noticed when you turned your head that looking through the right lens of you glasses i saw a good bit of swirl which is caused by astigmatisms. Astigmatisms effects eyesight at all distances so your going to be wearing glasses fulltime. You had just gotten your glasses earlier the day you did this video So your eyes were just starting to adjust to the the prescription of your glasses and they may have even given you a headache And i think you're farsighted as well. Once your eyes fully adjust everything is going to be blurry without them. So it's a good thing you were wanting glasses because you will be needing them from now on. So it's a good thing you look so good wearing glasses. During your eye exam you seemed to have more trouble reading small print, but you seemed to see the eyechart rather well . Of course only you and the doctor know if I'm right or not.

Just curious, are your blue light glasses just non-prescription or do you need a prescription as well in your glasses/ I know that diabetes can effect eyesight.
