I mean this in the most positive and constructive way, but not one rep was done properly there. You are bent over far enough but it should not take your momentum to get the weight up. Even on that first set you were using your toso and hinging your hips to pull the weight up and into you.

Just briefly, but I prefer the double overhand on the rows!

Height and weight? Also how long have you been training?

In my weight lifting opinion, I think if you widen your grip and tuck back your legs more for leg drive, than your benching strength will sky rocket. But good work man💪🏼

@@stephenschuster you know it! I like squatting without shoes to, keep me more grounded and allowed me to work with my natural range of motion!

How often you switch from 5x5 to 5x3?
@stephenschuster5 жыл бұрын
I usually do four to five weeks of 5x5, three weeks of 5x3 (with a sixth set of 1x5 at the end for hypertrophy), and then one week of 5x10 at light weight as a break.

A method I've had luck with is using "dead stop reps" to progress. Do four continuous, and the before the last rep you pause at the bottom. Then next week you can do 3 continuous and then two paused and so on. Slow but steady
@stephenschuster5 жыл бұрын
Will try to incorporate this. Thanks!

So, do you add 5lbs each week? And how long till you can get results? P.S.: 10th sub! 🎉
@stephenschuster5 жыл бұрын
That's generally the goal, but it all depends on feel. If I'm struggling to get through five sets, I'll stay at the current weight. Takes longer to move up five pounds for bench press and overhead press. Results will vary depending on consistency.

Damn bro those are some solid reps!!! Would you mind giving me some advice on form I just uploaded a bench video on my channel!

Thanks! Still relatively new to this myself, but your form looked good! As a few others commented, try keeping your feet flat on the ground if possible.

To each their own, but I'd say try to move your feet a little closer, it looks like your knees are getting pushed in by your arms. I hope it helps

You use a lot of lower back mate, try sitting back more and then driving with your legs. You will find it is easier as well as a stronger position to be in

Thanks! Was taught to keep hips high and not "squat" the weight off the ground. Will try this next week.

@@stephenschuster Olympic lifters really squat down like atg then lift. But yes you will get a lot more out of it that way

Nice work mate - strength just takes time to build. Will follow your journey and hope that you make some good progress along the way.
